To be fair...he' is a young guy in a game 7. There is a lot of pressure. Oh absolutely. Something like this tends to happen with very young guys who enjoy big success at anything. It's understandable.

I don't think I'd abandon Hendricks yet. He's had some bad luck but he hasn't been bad.

Wow. That was poor...poor defense. No way he should have scored.

Yeah, the game 7 jitters are showing up in both teams' defense.

Not sure if Davis could have gotten that with a normal jump...would have been very close. He would have smacked the wall if he did.

Cleveland just doesn't have a center fielder.

That's a fantastic tag by Bryant. Fantastic because it was absolutely moronic and he still found a way to make it work.

Every clean inning he gives them from here is just exponentially more huge.

Good for the kid after the tough night in the field.

They even got to Miller. Starting to feel like it's just Chicago's night.

Cleveland ran out of gas and out of luck. It was a fantastic run just to make it to this position though.

Really don't agree with this. You're pulling a guy who's cruising because he got pinched on two strikes?

Cleveland ran out of gas and out of luck. It was a fantastic run just to make it to this position though. Amazing when you consider they didn't have their second and third best pitcher basically throughout the playoffs (Salazar pitched three innings), and were missing Michael Brantley all season.

Wow. Maddon is gonna get ripped apart, and deservedly so. But seeing as we need proactive managing, otherwise known as soothsayer managing, the criticism will probably be muted.

It isn't directly his fault because there were a lot of really bad plays there, but just a terrible move by Maddon IMO bringing Lester in that situation.

Right. All proactive moves are good moves. That was the point.

Never thought I'd live long enough to see a World Series as good as 1975, I have. This is great stuff.

Hendricks was flat out dealing and he walked a guy on an AB with a very clear strike.

I also don't get why you don't have an actual reliever (Montgomery, Richards, whoever) ready to finish the inning so you can bring Lester in for the 6th clean.

I was just about to say the other bad part of that move was that Ross was gonna take an AB from Contreras. LOL.

I think it's reasonable to disagree on whether to leave Hendricks in (I probably would have), but Maddon seemed to make it clear to everyone that Lester wasn't going to enter mid-inning. Then he brought him in mid-inning, and with a man on base! Of course, it was all just a clever ruse to get David Ross's bat into the lineup.

For all the talk about how Miller is shutdown, he is carrying a 3.86 ERA right now.
