Luis Verdugo, SS, Mexico - Cubs (1,000,000) attribution: taken from NY Yankees fans Seems a bit odd that the Yanks are seemingly signing their guys for relatively less $ than their prospect position would suggest is market value. Would have expected more pitchers. Of the 30 guys 18 are SS. 2 catchers and 2 pitchers.

Anybody with good research skills want to try to find birthdays for Denny Daza, Nixon Munoz, Angel Sosa, or Leonel Jimenez?

Doing a little math based off of the Jesse Sanchez post above, the Sox have signed 30 players for a total of $7,305,000, which would leave them $995,000 below the max ($8.3 mil). Sanchez's list does not include Angel Sosa or Nixon Munoz so those signings will eat into the $995,000 remaining (assuming the STL trade got the Sox up to the max).

Between the Draft and the International signings, the Sox will have added 60 players. That's amazing. I wonder how many of them will still be playing on a Sox team by the end of next season. Half of the international crop are right-hand pitchers. Only 1 LHP.

Leonel Jimenez appears to be the first player the Sox have signed from Panama since Javier Guerra in July 2012.

Leonel Jimenez appears to be the first player the Sox have signed from Panama since Javier Guerra in July 2012. Ben Badler had him as a Venezuelan player.

Anybody with good research skills want to try to find birthdays for Denny Daza, Nixon Munoz, Angel Sosa, or Leonel Jimenez? Tough for you guys to find this info. The site takes great pains to try and get the info on these guys correct. But, its got to be a struggle, because I don't think the players even know birthday's, ages etc.

We'll see them next year. Will all these players start in the DSL even, robles? Yes, most likely. I could see Daniel Flores on the "play well for a month and we'll promote you to the GCL when that starts" plan. Who's Robles?

I wonder if we'll pluck another top 50 player yet or save it for later signings during the period like we did with Mata?

Sanchez's list does not include Angel Sosa or Nixon Munoz so those signings will eat into the $995,000 remaining (assuming the STL trade got the Sox up to the max). I have only $7,153,000. Note that bonuses $10,000 and under don't count. So they have (assuming they traded up to the $8,312,500 max) $1,159,500 left by my count. Of course, that goes down if they didn't trade up to the 75% figure. I wonder if we'll pluck another top 50 player yet or save it for later signings during the period like we did with Mata? Despite the above, I agree with how Badler answered Ian's question on the podcast that it's unlikely they go after any other big bonus guys. Badler made the point that next year's crop of international free agents is regarded as weaker, and he noted that a couple of the remaining Venezuelans in his top 30 are with the same trainer and may be waiting for next year, in which they might be bigger fish, so to speak. Given that there's a hard cap on the amount of money that can be spent by all teams now - and that fewer teams will be in the penalty box from the prior CBA next year, therefore making the pool of available money larger - this could be a smart move for the right players.

Still have a decent chunk of $$ left.

I keep clicking on the International Signings tab on the homepage, and I get nothing for Danny Diaz and Antoni Flores. Does this work for anyone else? I was just trying to read the scouting reports on them, and get a blank page.

If my calculations are correct, we have about $1.85 to go after Otani. I wonder which teams still have decent money left.
