A shame but, it doesn't appear that Cora ever thought much of him.

I was hoping the Sox would sign him to a minor league contract so that he could get full time catching duties to see where he's at. He's still young for a catcher and doesn't have enough of a bat to make it full time anyplace else.

Hard to know when he's generally been in situations where his most played position is bench warmer. I'm talking minor league contract here.

Some sad news, as former major leaguer and Red Sox farmhand Rich Rundles apparently passed away last week. He was drafted out of high school in 1999 and traded in the Ugueth Urbina/Tomo Ohka deal in 2001. Ended up reaching the majors in 2008 and 2009 with the Indians. www.wtok.com/content/sports/West-Alabama-Baseballs--566266981.html

I love it when people get arrested for resisting arrest. That's like a chicken and an egg both coming first.

Ride or die kinda guy, makes me want him more Right? Usually when I see "baseball player and wife get arrested" it is something much worse - my mind immediately went to domestic violence. This is basically the opposite! Defending his wife's right to bring a stupid oversized bag into Gillette Stadium is the most relatable arrest possible.

The article mentioned he was a SAL all-star in 2001 and it reminded me of that 2001 Augusta Greenjacket pitching staff I was sure would make up the future Red Sox staff. Rundles 2.43 ERA, Mauricio Lara 3.02, Rene Miniel 2.73, Seung Song 2.04 (helped acquire Cliff Floyd for a very underrated 2002 Sox team). Bullpen candidates included Frank Francisco 2.91, Tony Fontana 1.94, Dan Geise 2.19 95 K's in 74 innings, and Rodney Dickinson 1.86 with 30 K's no BB in 29 innings. I can still be fooled by those kind of minor league numbers but maybe that's a good thing being just a fan and not a GM.

It was more even more impressive when you consider Rundles was just 19 when that season started.
Seung Song appeared in 11 games, including one start, in the KBO this year. He now has 107 wins over 13 seasons with the Lotte Giants. Not quite an MLB guy but that's a pretty good career, guessing he made some dough there.

Rangers signed Henry Ramos. I saw him and Mookie have 4 hit games in New Britain several years ago. Almost positive it was this game but I don't know how to find minor league box scores that far back for absolute confirmation. www.pressherald.com/2014/05/16/sea-dogs-down-rock-cats-13-5/The next time Portland returned to New Britain, Henry was injured which would mostly be his story for the rest of his time with the Sox.

Why? That's like the dumbest contract of all time. I'm only being slightly sarcastic. He struck out 39.8% of the time last season and has been worth -1.5 fWAR in the last 2 seasons. Minor league depth must be getting really expensive.
