A bunch of old friends in the BA minor league transactions: -Austin Rei and Henry Ramos have hooked on with Arizona. -Nick Lovullo and Deven Marrero to Miami -Williams Jerez to Seattle -Jagger Rusconi to the White Sox www.baseballamerica.com/stories/minor-league-transactions-may-5-24-2021/Would really be nice to see Ramos get a major league call at some point. Even after all those injury problems, he's now up to nearly 1100 Triple-A plate appearances, with a respectable .278/.325/.440 line (which is admittedly less impressive when you consider most of that time has come in the PCL).

A couple catchers on the move: Jhon Nunez has signed a minor league deal with the Marlins, and Austin Rei was released by Arizona.

Am I wrong in thinking the Kopech situation is concerning? Have there been any updates?

Boston dealt Almonte to the Diamondbacks for Brad Ziegler back in 2016. He raised his prospect status some with Arizona and then I believe had a shoulder injury.

Milwaukee Milkmen @mkemilkmen · Jun 1
We have signed Brian Johnson! He was a 1st round draft pick by the Boston Red Sox. During his 4 MLB seasons he pitched 171 innings with 142 strikeouts!
We are excited to see him in a Milkmen uniform!

Facebook post by a Rays fan about Rich Hill of Milton MA. Did we know that about Brock Holt's nickname for Hill?
"Jourdan Rose Tampa Bay Rays Fan Club Time for a player profile! This is only my second one, and I appreciate all the positive feedback on my first one for Joey Wendle. This one was fun, learned a lot of cool and funny things about Rich Hill. Hill was born on March 11th in 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts. He naturally pitches from the right but his brother convinced him to pitch left. While playing for the Michigan Wolverines baseball team in college, he was actually drafted 3 different times before signing with the Cubs in 2002 and eventually making his mlb debut with the team on June 15th of 2005. Hill has played for the Cubs, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cleveland, Athletics, Twins, Yankees, Orioles, the Angels and now the Rays. He has over 1000 innings pitched and a lifetime ERA of 3.75. During all those years of experience and having played for so many teams, Hill has made quite a few friends. Brock Holt even gave him the nickname Dick Mountain. No its not sexual lol. Brock Holt thought it was funny to call him Dick instead of Rich and Mountain instead of Hill lol. Hill is married and has had 2 kids, sadly one passed away a few years back at only 2 months old. He is obviously a big family man and cares deeply about them cause at a Patriots game Hill was arrested for trying to prevent his wife from getting arrested for having an oversized bag. Rich Hill is off to a great start this year with 12 starts and a record of 5-2 with a 3.05 era so far. I hope he can stay healthy and help the Rays to their first world series win! Rays up!!"

He’s still so much fun to watch play defense Well, curiously, his defense has cratered this year. He's at -3 OAA overall on the year and -6 from the shortstop position (they must shift a lot - he's +3 starting from "second base").

He's already tied his career high with 11 errors this season...not sure what to make of that. Could be there was an unusually excessive amount of sun on those plays, but either way it seems he made the routine look spectacular. Definitely fun to watch.

Indians select the contract of Ryan LavarnwayWow, this will mark the 10th major league season that Lavarnway has appeared in to some capacity. That said, in five of those seasons he received fewer than 20 PAs, but I'm still amazed to see that indicator of longevity. Good for him, he's a very likable dude.
