It helps to say - or sing - the thread title with the Batman theme in mind. Just in case it wasn't obvious.

If you're featured this prominently in Gameday Thread titles, you really should be in the top 10.

Looking at Mata and the current Salem rotation, the next 2018 roster page updates will be dramatic.

I just assumed everyone was aware that Adam West passed away yesterday. The original 1960s Batman series was really awesome.

Granger Studdard making a surprise appearance in Salem today. Pretty high on my list of things I didn't expect to see today. Only had 13 games in the GCL last year. Was a three year college player though.

Love the Batusi. Was working on an alternate thread title with this reference - until I saw Mata pitching.

De La Guerra continues to have a nice season. 2-3 today with his fifth home run, batting .318 right now.

Was a three year college player though. It's almost certainly temporary. When a club needs a fill-in for only a few days, they jump one guy who can at least field the position up a few levels rather than displace players at multiple levels. Both Hudson and Kemp have had multiple-day absences recently, which makes me think they both might be a little dinged up. Studdard will probably be up for a little bit while they both try to rehab what's ailing them, which may or may not involve DL time. But that's complete conjecture on my part.

De La Guerra adds a double and Chavis follows with his 16th home run of the year.

If De La Guerra continues on like this, is there an argument to be made for De La Guerra as the number two middle infielder behind Chatham instead of Tobias? I mean, you could go ahead and make the argument if you'd like, but he's old for the level and is so significantly outperforming anything he's done in his career prior that I have a hard time buying it just yet. Tobias is almost literally the same age (1 day different) and hitting reasonably well a level higher. The part I find interesting is that they have had CDLG playing a decent amount of shortstop this year - even after the activation of Jeremy Rivera, who is a very good defensive shortstop who I thought would be getting all of the reps there. By the way, I know recently we're all talking about rankings by position with the trade of Coca, who Speier pointed out was his second-ranked MIF behind Chatham. But to put a guy as the number two middle infielder behind Chatham is really a distinction without much meaning. There's an ENORMOUS gap between Chatham and whoever would rank next, be it Tobias, Lin, Rivera, Espinal, CDLG, Rusconi, or one of the GCL kids like Lozada or Suarez.

The Matador starts off with a clean 1st. 1K sandwiched between to groundball outs.
ADD: Pair 2B's score a run in the 2nd against Mata, but he does get a K. Clean 3rd inning.
ADD: Clean 4thg with a K

Mata through 5, no baserunners since the two doubles in the 2nd. And oh by the way 55 pitches (if accurate) so yet again should get through 6+.
Two singles (runner thrown out at the place) and two 3-ball counts in the 6th. 71 pitches does it for Mata's night. Yet another 6IP one run outing.
Only one run going the other way facing a 23 year old out of Indiana U.
