I thought this was funny:
Luis Alejandro Basabe: .229/.318/.337 Luis Alexander Basabe: .216/.316/.322
Relatively close, will see where they are at the end of the season.

Beeks coming off a very strong July. 1.73 ERA in 26 innings with 10.04 K/9. Hopefully he can keep it up and build off of it.

Ockimey is in Portland according to his Instagram. Rebounded a bit from a rough start to the month. Hitting .297 in his last 10, but only .253 for July. But better than his .212 from June.

Ockimey is in Portland according to his Instagram. A little unexpected honestly, but congrats to the big fella! He's one of the easier guys to root for in the system imo.

Seems like that came from out of nowhere, but excited to see how he handles the jump.

Looks like Juan Florentino and Jared Oliver to Greenville, Harrison Cooney and Pat Goetze to Salem.

I had missed Florentino's fine season until now. Very good ERA and great peripherals while not being old for the league. Will be interesting to see how he'll handle Greenville.

Elias starting for Pawtucket instead of Beeks. Redoing the rotation similar to what Salem did last night? Or was he scratched?

Not sure why they flipped them (which was possible because Pawtucket's been using a six-man rotation). Could just be to give Beeks an extra day of rest.

Houck with a strong start so far. 3 innings, 0 H, 0 BB, 4 Ks. But 2 WPs? Still, a good start. Wonder how short of a leash he has
Edit add: Evidently a wicked short leash. That was it. 40 pitches.

Nice night for Houck. I think this is what we've all been waiting to see from him. Anyone in attendance tonight?

Cole Brannen leads the Gulf Coast League in OBP. Pedro Castellanos is 3rd in OPS (2nd in average, 4th in OBP). Castellanos could be a monster if he fills out his big frame. He never strikes out. Obviously he's far from a finished product but I really like him.
