This scum is a below avg hitter, bellow avg runner and a below avg fielder with no versatility what so ever. So yeah, I'll sherish the day he joins his fat friend on the DFA list. Reeeeeee-lax.

So this story is a bit longish and only relates to this game in a small way.... I think I've just won at life. The games in this losing streak have been hard to watch and have been hard to watch starting early. Years ago I stopped watching games that upset me because the team was playing poorly. I'm happier doing other things than watching the baseball team I love play poorly. So ive been turning these recent games off in the first couple of innings. I am slightly chagrined to admit that I turned this game off in the second inning when they went down by two. Some people might say that's the text book definition of a fair weather fan but I've been rooting for the Red Sox for over 40 years now and I don't feel any need to justify or explain my fandom to anyone. I love this team and I simply don't enjoy seeing them lose. So, tonight my wife comes downstairs and I'm watching something else and strumming on a guitar just fooling around and she says, "Can't we watch the game? I've really missed baseball in the last few days. Just so you know I was watching upstairs and it's tied at two right now". So two things come to mind, first I've won at life because of her and how great she is in about 30 different ways. Then second, I hope Mookie was part of the runs they scored because the Red Sox really need him to get going. But really, I've won at life. Apologies if this seems sappy. What a fantastic story. Won at life, indeed (I share that feeling - my wife has been my best friend for 38 years and counting). We walk our dog, I turn on the game (Roku), she reads - then I put the game on my laptop and we watch a movie for a bit - she heads for bed early, the game goes back on Roku. Life....bigger than baseball!

Infinite monkey theorem man, if you do weird stuff all the time you'll eventually get it right. are you talking about the front office or hanley? I'm talking about DFAing Hanley. That's such a terrible idea that it can't be explained by anything less than a very complex equation.

Might I ask what you were playing, if you were so inclined to share? I'm new to guitar. I've only been playing about six months. I love it but I'm not very naturally talented. I was playing Under the Milky Way by The Church and I'm fiddling around with Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. Clearly im good luck. Sox up 4-3 now and bases are jacked.

Benny will be a great player in this league (hopefully for us!) for a long time...what a swing.

I started about 11 years ago (started late also) and can now play a lot of different stuff. Stay with it, it is just muscle memory, but beginning will test the patience of any sinner or saint.
