The problem is a catch 22 though. Smart and Rozier can kill your shooting, but they are also a Huge part of your D. We just have to hope that Tatum can take the next step this year. He had a great game and it's asking way too much, but he needs to take more shots. Same with Brown. They got out rebounded by 11 and Brown was like last years Brown. He needs way more than 3 rebounds in 31 minutes. It's fun to nitpick what was just a down game. They happen and it's really no big deal, but lets not try to turn our D and effort on and off. Hey, Rozier said he is a lot better shooter than Smart.

Great win last night. It was great because they bounced back and dominated start to finish last night.

Great win last night. It was great because they bounced back and dominated start to finish last night. Yeah. So many times streaks follow streaks in sports...whether due to a psychological letdown when a win streak ends or other reason(s)....that I was half expecting a few down games...while they 'regrouped'. Hopefully they will continue to play well today. I was surprised to learn that the C's are 18th in passes per game..way down from 2nd last year and seemingly far from Celtic-like. Kyrie is unbelievable with the ball, but I do wonder if his 1 on 3 efforts factor in the drop-off. We do need better shooters for the second group though. Rozier had a great night and has a nice stroke so I think he will get better. ...but the rest were woof.

What a efficient night from the Celtics tonight. Kyrie, Smart, Rozier, and Horford all seemingly had perfect games.
Glad the shots are starting to go down for Smart.

I like Rozier having two good shooting games in a row. You can build on things like that. I have hope for him, but more in the long-term type thing.
If the Clippers keep sucking I wonder if Lou Williams could be a target. If you wanted a guard that can score and shoot, he has to be one of the better players you could get. I just would hate to see Rozier get less minutes. At the same time, Williams would be a weapon off the bench. I just didn't think the Clippers would be this bad, but wow they have not looked good for a while now. He is a to be free agent and he fits in the exception amount.

If Rozier keeps scoring consistently, then it shouldn't be a problem. If he can't, then the Celtics should absolutely be in on Lou Williams. He is the exact scoring weapon they could use off the bench. Rozier has the next 2-3 months until the trade deadline to prove himself as a threat off the bench. If not, then he could lose minutes or Semi could lose minutes because Smart can guard the 3 position.

They are losing tonight because of other worldly 3 point shooting by Detroit and our inability at the Line

They are losing tonight because of other worldly 3 point shooting by Detroit and our inability at the Line I mean what's with the bad free throw games in the last two losses? It's irritating. Even Kyrie was missing free throws.

Jaylen Brown just can’t shoot them right now but the other things happen from time to time

They are losing tonight because of other worldly 3 point shooting by Detroit and our inability at the Line Drummond also played like an animal, Baynes should have gotten more minutes. Al flat out can't contain a guy like Drummond inside.

There are only a handful of players that can come close to staying with Drummond. If he can play like that on the regular Detriot is going to be a real threat. They look legit. Baynes can help, but even he can't really slowdown Drummond. The guy is a monster.

Then again, if Kyrie played just a bit better they probably would have won the game, so I'm not too concerned.

It took Drummond's best game of the year. The 22 rebounds weren't horrible, the guy average almost 16 a game, but the 26 points were way more than his norm. He just doesn't do that game in and game out. On a side note, I was surprised he's still only 24 years old.

Regular season and playoffs are so different. Can’t game plan during the regular season like you can in the post season.

It would be nice to see this team play good basketball again.

It would be nice to see this team play good basketball again. They play good in stretches. We were spoiled by an unexpectedly long stretch of good basketball from a team that had no business doing that. This team was supposed to take months to come together especially once Hayward went down. This is just part of that. We just got spoiled. 50 wins was in question even with a supposed better team just because of how new this team was.

I like the move of Morris to the second unit. This is where he should be.

Smart looks a little heavier/slower than he was at the start of the season, Irving has slipped back into some bad habits (too upright, caught on screens) and some of the general intensity on defense has faded.

Harsh crowd. They held the Sixers to 97 points on 41.7% shooting. Not a bad game really. The overall D is tied to rebounding, so when Tatum, Brown, Rozier and Smart all don't rebound well your D won't be elite. Still overall holding teams under a 100 points now a days is an achievement.

I had the same feeling about Smart...Offense better...defense a click off. We have been getting out-rebounded lately as well. I think that early rebounding success was partly due to extreme hustle and effort....something that is hard to maintain over a season. We do need a big body rim guy.

Why is Jason Tatum still shooting 49% on 3 three point attempts per game after 24 games?
