Why is Jason Tatum still shooting 49% on 3 three point attempts per game after 24 games? He's playing within the system, within himself and disciplined enough to take only good shots. Plus, he's a 19 year old rookie not interested in being a "me guy".

I forget where I saw the breakdown of Tatum, but they looked at his College shooting and in the pros. He is taking a lot of the same shots, he's just making them at a much higher clip now. I agree he is playing in the system and taking only good shots. He also seems to have improved what looked like his only flaw in College! Call me crazy but I want him to be more aggressive and take more shots. Sometimes he seems too passive. I can't stand some games when Smart takes 15 shots and Tatum takes 10.

For once I agree with you completely in regards to taking more shots and Smart taking fewer, LOL. Sorry I couldn't help it. I do agree with you sometimes. I expect in time we will see Tatum become more aggressive and I am looking forward to that. He already seems to be taking it to the rim more lately and with authority. The more success he has will lead to more attempts. For me I kind of like how he is taking it slow and taking what the offense gives him. I think it is safe to say that he and Brown have exceeded expectations this season already, good stuff. Could they both be future all-stars or am I being a homer? Seems to me like they definitely have what it takes.

Of course they could both be future All-stars... could be.... Jaylen Brown needs to chill at the line tho and start making 75% of his Free Throws

Really ticked off that I can't listen to this game. Looks like a blowout from the boxscore though.

This team just doesn’t play defense anymore.
*immediately holds Bucks to 19 in the fourth quarter*

Others have mentioned the physical drain of playing that sort of defense game after game. Maybe the first dozen games or so were a pop quiz from Stevens to see if this year's class gets it. Satisfied that they do, could be the foot's off the brakes for now.

Yesterday was a very good day for the potential L.A. pick. Virtually everyone with a worse, same, or slightly better record than L.A. won.
I don’t think Dallas is as bad as they’ve been, and L.A. is in the beginning of a brutal stretch.

Ho-Hum kid just drops 17 points on 6 shots... no big deal. 4/5 from 3. It’s ridiculous how efficient he’s been AND his red Flag was efficiency. I bet Philly wishes they had that trade back now... Tatum is a perfect fit for that team and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind that pick back. Imagine that squad with Simmons - Tatum - Embid? The ridiculous length...

If the Celtics ever got lucky and the lottery gods helped us for once and we ended up with that second pick and Bagley was here making the Celtics Duke North; i wouldn’t be able to contain myself.

Obviously know one knows how many minutes Tatum would be getting this year had Hayward not gotten injured but I think his play and Jaylen’s development should silence the talk about how top prospects are better off going to a worse team where they can get unlimited run to develop their games. I’ve never felt that way and I feel like these guys are showing that doesn’t have to be the case. For someone like Brown, I think he’s developed faster with less playing time on the Celtics than he would with more playing time on a team like the Kings or Suns. Developing in a winning environment teaches good habits and maybe the stats won’t reflect that and won’t be a flashy but learning how to win is an often overlooked part of player development.

Totally agree, it is what the Spurs have done.

At the time of my post he had just gone 3 for 3 on 3's in about 3:30 of the first for 9 points. Would have been funny if he put up 30 the very next game based on the conversation.

Sheesh, they till him how to rework his game, so he extends his range and completely overhauls the shot selection, not without effort but on a really smooth glide path nevertheless. And he still has the killer one on one game for those special moments. What a find.

If the C's got this lucky and ended up with Bagley we would all have a hard time containing ourselves. Makes me think of Duncan and the bad luck, never really have been lucky when it comes to the balls.

Will this team play defense again this year?

One thing I've noticed about Horford is that this year when he has a bad game, like he had tonight, he's still very productive. Last year when he had a bad game he would look like a dude anyone would outshoot at the local Y. That's obviously huge.

One of the things about small sample sizes is that they're... small. If Horford had tried one less shot, and made one more of the ones he did take, he would have been at 50%. That's to go with 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots. You're welcome to your opinion, but I think he had a huge game.

Watched the full game highlights on YouTube.
Smart's lobs for alley oops are special, he has a knack of knowing exactly when to pass it and how hard or soft to pass it before his team-mate goes up to dunk. I notice it a lot in the highlights, and not just in this game either.
Larkin is a nice plug and play player, had a really nice game last night on the highlights. I noticed Rozier a lot in the highlights too.
Kyrie is just special. The Celtics are so lucky to have him. Horford compliments him like a nice paint job on a brand new corvette too, it's like they've been team-mates for years with their chemistry.
Tatum is probably the second best isolation player on this team. Just give him the ball and get out of his way.

Will this team play defense again this year? They gave up 30 points in the second half.... really 27 if u take out the buzzer beater the Mavs hit while the Celtics stood around bc the game was over. You can’t play max effort defense for 4 quarters 82 games a year. Your guys would burn out. They did it to start the year but we knew that wasn’t sustainable. The good thing is they are winning games and still kicking it down when needed. I’d like a better first half effort tho.

It’s too bad Tatum had an off game with Brown and Morris out. He barely averaged over 1.5 points per shot... he was almost 3 points per shot her previous game.
Pick it up Tatum or you’re gonna lose PT!
