Whatever Nunez had pre-injury last year is long gone...he is simply killing them right now. It looks to me like his reaction time is slow and can't get his feet in the right position to field or throw. He's not playing at major league speed. I don't believe his knee is fully healthy.

I think the Red Sox should try that whole getting a lead thing again.

That Nunez only has 1 error this season tells you what you need to know about how meaningless errors are when it comes to judging defensive ability. I wonder about what goes through Lin’s mind as he sits on the bench watching this kind of stuff.

Now when Dave O'Brien says the team wanted Leon to bat against Colome because Leon had been 2 for 5 against him, is that O'Brien being an idiot or Cora being an idiot?

Or could just be O’Brien trying to avoid dead air. Have to think they reach for things to keep the conversation going so I wouldn’t think too much if it.

Got to put up more than 1 run against Hammel. He isn't very good.

That’s one of the stupidest rules I’ve ever seen.

I've never seen that as a ground rule double before. It's not impossible to go pick up.

I’ll admit I’m kinda cranky watching this game so forgive the whining... is there a rule somewhere that says the weather during baseball games in Boston has to be crappy? I’m sick of watching inclement weather games.

On the WEEI broadcast, Tim and Joe brought up the 2 for 5, as well. After the hit, Tim admitted that there were probably plenty of people clamoring for a pinch hitter, but sticking with Leon worked out. It sounds like it was Cora making the choice to stick with a .100 hitter based on 5 at bats. Crazy, but it worked this time.

It was also mentioned that Cora said that if he PH for Leon, Xander would not have gotten a strike to hit, so it was just going to have to be Lin instead of Leon that came through. Lin is hitting .000/.105/.000 in his last 7 games. That probably makes the 2-5 sound a lot better.

The HR that is such a no-doubter that the outfield doesn't even move is one of my favorite things in baseball.
