It must be a little demoralizing for the Yankee clubhouse to see the Sox win game after game. If the Sox lose this we now know where the blame will go! :-) I could be on the hook for that, hope not, but they have won 7 in a row since leaving NY.

Few catchers get a hit there.

Swihart can move.

Beeks not yet an MLB pitcher. Is there still a difference between the AAA ball and the MLB ball? For a control guy, Beeks sure seemed to lack control in both his MLB appearances. Kinda a lousy birthday.

Who says the Red Sox need bullpen help?

I hope after this start Cora uses Swihart more. The two times he caught was for Vasquez tonight and last time Beeks. I mean start a game catching.

Who says the Red Sox need bullpen help? That was a pretty efficient inning for Kelly. I think the Sox have one of the best BPs in baseball.

I think Beeks suffered from BABIP issues again. He didn't get hit half as hard as Gallardo.

Kinda a waste of Kelly there, right? Hembree, Brasier or Thornburg?
Edit: I realize he was good, but this is a four run lead and he’s been used a lot.

Mookie Betts. Best overall player I've seen play in a Sox uniform. Ellsbury looked like a potential perennial MVP candidate too after 2011 (even with expected HR/FB regression), but then Reid Brignac had to go destroy Ellsbury’s should with his replacement level rear end. We'll have to disagree there, Ellsbury was never in the class of "best". He wasn't that good a hitter and had poor strike zone judgement which means his lack of walks took from his speed. He also had no arm. We've had several far better players Lynn, Rice, Nomar, Fisk, debatably Evens. He was fun to watch though.

He had a 9.4 fWAR season so I wouldn't say he wasn't the best player in the league that year.

These intentional walks are weird. Mookie never even went into the batters box.

What's the over/under on how many spots Brasier moves up in the 8/1 rankings? :-)
