Porcello is just serving up meatballs. Worst timing to have a bad start like this with a double header coming up....

Well just chalk this up as a dreadful start for Porcello. You’re correct. It’s not his night.

Score 2 runs to tie it.
Give up 3 runs before even getting an out.

One of "those" starts, sadly.

I want to remind y'all that we still won 2 out of 3 games on the road with Johnson and Pomeranz starting and with a bunch of players injured. After this Orioles series we should get Swihart and Kinsler back.
And I'm sure that most of us forgot since it hasn't happened in a while, but if we lose a game on the road, we only have to pitch 8 innings, so at least we save a reliever for when we'll need them this weekend.

Sure, there is a certain amount of ignorance....and a certain of amount of truth...like a lot of things in life. What is funny to me, though, is you could literally put him a high school hallway and he would probably purposefully / accidentally bump into a nerdy brainiac (not saying that is right to do). In fairness, every sabermetric guy I’ve seen looks like he last played in tee ball, doing half games in left field. What sabermetric guys have you seen?

I hope Cora now knows that when Porcello looks off get him out quick. That’s twice recently we’ve seen this from Porcello

I genuinely don’t concede this game as a loss (yet). I don’t know what the win probability is right now, but it’s obviously pretty low. This team has just done so much winning in the last month, it’s hard for me to give up on games that haven’t started the 6th inning. edit. After the fifth the Blue Jays win expectancy was 87.8%. So I’m an optimistic homer. There’s worse names I’ve been called.

I wondered about this.

When asked why he is "The Conductor" for Players Weekend, Chris Sale said I should ask "Pedey". Response from Pedey: "You're a smart guy. What does a conductor do? Punches tickets." I must admit, my first thought was a music conductor.

All right, it's time for them to put some more runs on the board.

LOL, when's the last time you heard anyone say, I'd have a beer with this or that stats geek. Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer, Billy Beane, Andrew Friedman just four big names who immediately come to mind with reputations both as stat geeks and totally normal people. I mean really this belief that intelligence somehow prohibits normality is just so ignorant.

Well.... not saying this game is over at all.... but if it is ..... they won the series. If we keep winning series the rest of the way then we are in very good shape and control everything

I'd have a beer with Einstein and I'm guessing only one of us declined full boat rides to both Harvard and MIT. I mean really this belief that stats geek and intelligence are correlated is just so ignorant. ADD: And relating 'stats geek' to Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer, Billy Beane, Andrew Friedman is on you not me.

What Werth is doing is the same thing that Sabermetricians do , it is just Werth decided to go public with his comments. This is just another form of tribal / class warfare that humans do. Believe me, the saber guys were taking shots at the lifers/ ballplayers also. To me it is funny, because it is silly.
