There is no way Pom’s elbow is heavy. Did he really just throw an 84-mile an hour fb? They did call it a 2 seamer. I have no idea why he'd start throwing those, but apparently he has been throwing them. I think the pitch call must have been wrong. At 84 mph, he is getting close to an area where I could match his velocity (I’m over 50 and had surgery on my throwing shoulder).

You just know Pomeranz is going to be signed by a team like the Twins in the off season.

Let’s put it this way, with his shakey control and so-so velo, if he was a AAA pitcher and we needed a spot start, he might not get the call-up.

Pomeranz was great last year. We don't have that Pomeranz this year. He is painful to watch, not really a good fit on our team with it's current stratospheric accomplishments and potential to go deep. Would rather Johnson gets his starts - or Velazquez.
Clearly, something physical is amiss.
I also wish our hitters would go for the center cut pitches instead of getting into holes and having to hit grounders off of the brutal sliders.

Pomeranz could win the jackpot and somehow still walk away with debt.

That was the best reverse jinx job by O'Brien on the first hit by JDM. It was literally the next pitch after he mentioned the no-hitter.

OK. I'm done with Pomeranz. I cannot take it anymore.
But seriously, the offense needs to wake the eff up.

One of these days I'll figure out where to look but I wonder what the spin rate on his FB is, this year compared to last.

That series of pitches is hardly inspiring: struggling to get a 90 max fastball over... then boom. My point is that he is throwing like a guy whose elbow is not right. Hard to see this kind of decline from last year to this as natural for a guy in his 20s.

OK. I'm done with Pomeranz. I cannot take it anymore. But seriously, the offense needs to wake the eff up. I don't see how he would be useful in the pen either given the walk issue. His velocity may tick up in the pen but you can't count on him not walking people. I don't think they would trade him but if they had any thought, nows the time while there's still a few teams in contention in the NL.

According to Steve Lyons “he just has to make a few adjustments.”

Well, on the other hand.... painful as that was, if Sale’s DL stint is precautionary and gets him rest, and Pom’s start results in 5 innings, 2runs — giving the Sox every chance to win — I’ll take it. I mean, tonight. But not again.

One of my favorite games to play on here is "Guess the Score" It's only fun when the Red Sox are losing, but I'll start reading the comments section halfway through the game and guess what the score is before checking. I'd have thought it was 6-0 or so.

Nice job to get out that mess. Great play by Leon! Yeah! And that was the worst case of base clogging I've ever seen by Morales. He should have been able to get a double instead of a single. He should have scored on the single when he was on 2nd. He should have been able to score on the fly to RF. And he should have been past where Leon was when he fielded the ball. So that's 4 way below average baserunning examples in one inning.

Xander Bogaerts has been bad for a while now.
It's frustrating how he starts out each season so well and struggles down the stretch. Be nice to see him put together a full season.
