Ohh come the fudge on. There wasn't enough to overturn there.

It wasn't even close from the one angle. His foot dragged across the entire base with the ball in his glove.

I'm not sure if he held the bag or not. I just know it sure didn't seem there was enough to overturn.

No way was that enough to overturn.

No way was that enough to overturn. You must have missed the obvious angle. It was really blatant. His foot was in the middle of the bag when the ball was in the glove.

They overturned that play because they knew Philly fans would flip cars and throw babies if they didn't overturn that play.

My god Kelly. This f-ing bullpen reminds us not to get comfortable everytime they pull a pitcher.

That was horribly played by JBJ. And seriously...enough with the “wasn’t enough to overturn the call” nonsense. Pearce was out. Not even close.

They overturned that play because they knew Philly fans would flip cars and throw babies if they didn't overturn that play. I do agree the call should have been an out originally. But the Phillies wandering off the field before the decision is made shouldn’t be allowed.. Hopefully we take note and do that when the plays being reviewed in future too

They overturned that play because they knew Philly fans would flip cars and throw babies if they didn't overturn that play. No, they overturned it because it was the correct call. It's one thing to want to believe in something for the benefit of your team, it's a very different thing to completely ignore factual/visual evidence of the call being against your wishes for the team.. His foot clearly dragged across the base with the ball in his glove. The only possible reason to believe he was safe is if you thought there was a chance his foot was just hovering over the bag by the smallest of margins. However, even then I'm sure they were able to blow up the video to check for that as well...

Unless you knew the ball was in the glove and you knew his foot was on the bag (which it's freaking blurry due to the movement of the play), you don't know if either occured.

I kind of hope that this game goes into extras considering that we have tomorrow off AND the Phillies are down to 1 bench player (the catcher) and will be on their 6th pitcher to start the 7th.

What exactly are you talking about? I am watching the Phillies broadcast and they showed a clear as day, non-blurry, slow motion view that clearly showed him being out. As a matter of fact, why in the world would I want to believe that? That is much more appropriate for what you are saying, not what everyone else is saying...

Closed captioning fail: "Biological Weapon Tendi." (I don't know, it's kind of catchy...)

That is exactly what was shown on the NESN broadcast. Maybe the Philly broadcast had a better shot, I don't know I'm not watching from their end.

Cora,
Holt is a reverse split guy and is better against LHP. Nunez is a reverse split guy and is better against RHP.
You don't pinch hit Holt for Nunez when there's a LHP on the mound.
