I love this. Worcester is my home and they've been begging for this kind of revitalization of some kind for a while. Can't wait.

While I’m happy for Worcester, this sort of stinks. Pawtucket is a part of us.

No surprise here. The current owners were always going to take the best offer. There’s is a chance that the New York Penn League will try to get someone to buy the Batavia franchise and move it to Pawtucket. The league currently owns the franchise.

I kind of found it hard to find parking in Pawtucket, not to mention it feels very unsafe when going there.
If there's at least one thing Worcester has going for themselves, it's that they have a ton of methods of transportation. They have the train that comes from Boston and has multiple stops on the way to Worcester that you can park at and travel to Worcester. There's plenty of hotels. They have like 3 huge cab companies. There's plenty of population. Worcester I believe is the second most populated city in New England only second to Boston.
Worcester has begged for this for years. We have a independent team in the Worcester tornadoes who's only known for Jose Conseco showing up and playing one game then leaving. We also have the San Jose Sharks affiliated hockey team all the way from California that no one has any interest in because there's no connection to the team after they changed the name from the Ice Cats to Sharks.

Really my only strong feeling on this is that another "replica Fenway" would be the lamest and most unimaginative sh*t possible.

Lots of great bars and restaurants. Not that I get there super often, but the downtown is certainly nicer than it was only a couple of years ago.

I grew up just outside of Worcester, and it has definitely come a long way. I like this for the city, but I think we can all agree that calling them the WooSox is just terrible.

Disappointed it didn't work out in Providence, would've been an amazing atmosphere right on the water.

Good for Worcester, I haven't been there in a long time and it was always a bit downtrodden. Happy to hear there has been a revitalization and that they are getting a AAA franchise that will help even more. Good for Worcester!!

I enjoy going to a AAA (or Atlantic League) game at a small modern stadium probably more than an MLB game. I hope that's what the fans in Worcester get to experience. I hope the Red Sox can figure out a way to maintain a connection in RI too.

Good for the PawSox owners to get the best deal with Worcester. The only downside to this is that Rhode Island will likely develop more obnoxious Yankee fans than they have now.

I used to live in Worcester so I'm happy for them, but I loved McCoy Stadium and I feel sorry for the folks in that area. Ben Mondor must be rolling over in his grave. Besides, Worcester conducted all of its negotiations in secret. That's usually a bad sign. I'll wait to find out how much the tax payers got hosed on this deal before coming to a final conclusion.
P.S. Kelley Square could be a real-life game of bumper cars before and after games. Bring the old jalopy if you are going.........................

I don't believe this is what the Pawsox group really wants but they thought they could leverage a better deal and the other side didn't blink (apparently).
So now they have a new operation in Wor. and it will be a very different outfit than what's carried on in Paw. for a couple of generations. Yes I think those days are gone and I'm not convinced the product will thrive with things done differently and likely much more expensively. But good luck to aaa Bb in central Ma.

A larger-scale version of Pawtucket, if you will.

They are building the new building right in the middle of Kelly Square too. Lol I could have picked 10 better spots, but it is what it is. Here are all the plans- www.masslive.com/expo/sports/erry-2018/08/b435ead7df4337/photos-of-worcester-red-sox-ba.htmlAnd we have another green monster....lol

Great for Worcester and honestly it's probably best for Boston. I would think having Triple A closer the city is best for them. Sucks for RI though. I really liked McCoy Stadium. I'm from CT and would kill for a Red Sox minor league team. Would do wonders for New Haven or Bridgeport. All we have is the Yard Goats ( Rockies) and the Tigers in Norwich which for the life of me I can't figure out why in the world they have an affiliated team in Norwich CT.

Not a fan. We won't meet the school system's request for ESL funding but we'll drop ~$68m (Yard Goats stadium cost) on another Fake Fenway dropped in the worst intersection in New England? Kinda comical, very sorry for PawSox faithful

I just looked it up on Google maps and they're both about the same distance from Boston. There was about 4 minutes difference in the commute as of right this minute. Am I missing something?
