Not sure how many of you know that deepjohn had some serious issues and this site was an outlet for him during his rehab. Oh yeah now that you mention it I kind of remember something like that. I don't think anyone makes fun of him with malice, I think he probably looks back at it and thinks yeah that kind of overdid it and we'd all laugh together. He definitely wasn't as bad as some of the others banned legends.

I only want Pedro back if he can participate without his own feelings of burden. From where I stand, he or his energy will always be present when I am here. Good luck, keyboard cowardice can be relentless. In the interest of transparency, I give jmei my permission to share my last PM to him.

The mods are very reasonable. They just ask that you make a sincere effort to stop doing whatever you're doing, and some people may not even realize that they're annoying other people. It happened to me before one time. It is not a good feeling to get a message from a moderator so he probably feels bad about it.
I like Pedrofan too, and there are times I can't help but post several times in an hour if I have thoughts I want to discuss. But it sounds like he has been given multiple chances and he just can't help it. Sometimes it is good to take a break for a few days.

I imagine that A LOT of us have received a message from a mod or two for any sort of reason over the course of the years. I know that they can't share this information, but I'm sure that the mods can confirm that nobody is alone in receiving a message. I'd be surprised if there are any members that have at least a few thousand posts and have been here at least a few years that have not received a message of some sort. When I received a message, I took it personally and it instantly killed my desire to remain here. At the end of the day, it's FAR less personal than we make it, and I'm guessing that PFF is feeling similarly. I could be completely wrong, but he strikes me as a younger fellow. On another note, I've noticed that some forums have stats that track how many posts you've made per day. I just find it interesting.

Feeling good at the moment as I have yet to receive any messages from a moderator. Also officiated my first wedding this weekend and the response was I hit a grand slam!! Felt good to perform under pressure. Come on back Pedro, I know your reading this. The rest of the season and playoffs are going to be great don't miss out on the fun!

Only replying in here because I see people wondering if they're posting too much. You aren't.
Just to illustrate what we're talking about, PFF had posted 495 times from August 1-19. If you go back 1000 posts (the furthest back you can go in View This Member's Recent Posts from their profile), it only gets you to July 15 for him. 71 posters on this website have ever even posted here 1000 times, total. So we're talking about 1000 posts in a little over a month when most people here haven't ever posted that much, full stop.
Extrapolate that number out and consider 20 posters have 4000 posts, total, ever. PFF may have had that many in 2018 in 8 months, or at least was posting at that rate.
PFF had only been a member since May 2016. He already had the 4th-most posts of any member at 9587. And the volume was increasing. Everyone else on that list has been a member since 2014 or earlier (and many are staff members who post in the staff forum about site things that aren't in the public forum, forum related and otherwise).
And as stated, he was not banned. He's welcome to come back any time. He just needs to not post more in a month and a half than most of our posters have ever posted in total. Again, my point is none of you post at a rate such that your need to worry. This was exponential.
The moderating staff has received a number of private messages over time of the kind Mike has described. We have moderated the forums this way for over a decade, dating back to when we were on ezboards/Yuku. Most folks are very happy with that. But we're aware we won't please everyone. If anyone actually has an issue with one or more moderators, bring it to the attention of another mod or member of the brass.
Edit: Since it was mentioned, my post to him came after numerous attempts to talk to him and coach him privately over PM by multiple moderators. Our moderating thread on the staff forum was months worth of mods trying to figure out what to do with him because we'd get complaints or observe him killing discussion after discussion. I was sick of them having to waste that much time on him while getting nowhere. If that offended anyone, I'm sorry, but last ditch efforts were necessary in my opinion.
----- One note - I think deepjohn is being confused with a different poster who claimed to be on here while rehabbing a head injury. Unless there's something I didn't know about deepjohn, those were two different people. Am I missing something?

Guys, let me first say that I took the blame for myself leaving. I'm a superfan of this team, I do post a ton when I talk.
At first when I got messaged, I got disappointed, but I understand where they come from. If counting posts are a thing, then it's their right to do so. This isn't my show to run, and I'm sure the people who moderate don't get paid to babysit guys like me. Heck, I even got nice Mike to drop in to this thread (which is neat). The reason why I stepped away is because I didn't want to be a neausance.
This board is their show to run and it contributes to some of the money they make on their fabulous website. They got to do what they feel they got to do. I didn't want people to shy away from joining or positing either with me dropping out. Heck, I've been here for 2 years and I think this kind of support for one poster like me should make more people want to join imo, but maybe that's just me.
I feel as though 25 percent of my posts were tweets that I was updating everyone with (injuries, trades, rumors). I'll stop doing that. People can get their own updates on their own if they want it and I won't be updating anyone on anything anymore. I'll stick to mostly the gamethread moving forward. Thanks again for all the love guys.
Edit- I came back in time for the playoffs to start (after thinking things through, been here for most of the year so wth got to keep it going through at least the end). I'll reassess if I should keep posting beyond that, because I probably can't control myself with the wonders and unknown of the offseason. I think I might just troll Drellich instead or something at that point.

The guy with the head injury wasn’t here long. It was giltg or godilovethisgame. I think he made 3 different accounts at one point and posted about 10 times more than pedro. lol

I think your attitude is terrific, and I think your willingness to accept accountability and look critically at yourself and your opinions is admirable. I understand the need for the mods to maintain discussion over pedagogy, but I’ve never had much issue with the volume of your posting. I’m psyched to have you back here, and I’m sure that you’ll be able to follow the guidelines the mods have asked you to. You’ve got the insight to do it, which is a lot less common than it could be. Welcome back, friend.
