Nice way to shorten the swing and just take it up the middle Benny!

Jackie is a good player, I cant imagine not having him. If he could just get a tad more consistent with that bat... Work on leveling out his swing plane....

And what team doesn't have problems? The Yankees are losing 5-4 to the Tigers right now. The key words there are "right now." Everybody, just ignore the storm clouds on the horizon. It hasn't rained in awhile. What could possibly happen? I've been following this franchise for 62 years now. I know when they are on fumes, and this team is running on fumes and ace bandages right now. How about now?

Yes, he can put the icing on the cake! You're welcome! ha ha ha!
Just had a feeling - this pitcher and that hitter....nearly inevitable!

With a win and the Yankees loss, that should help us wrap the division a bit sooner so hopefully we can rest some guys. Especially with rosters expanding soon.

Am I a traitor if I actually feel a bit sorry for opposing pitchers in innings like this? Swihart grinds, JBJ pulls a decent pitch, Benny hangs in, JDM bombs.... what can you do? Hell, he even K’d Mookie and still gets hammered.

Martinez is steady as a rock man. Haven't really came away from a game like he "went off" just seems like he's 2 or 3 for 5 with 2-3 ribs every night!

It's kinda nice to have the feeling that they are never out of the game no matter what the score is these days. That's 9 runs in less than 3 innings.

If this game doesn't change, that's two games outscoring the opponents 23-10. lol Although, they were losing both games by a combined score of 9-2 at points.

For the lazy, a gameday thread synopsis.
Top 3: Oh my god, so doomed, September swoon on our doorstep.
Top 9: The AL East is SO over.
Baseball. Is funny, no?

And just take solace in the fact that Yankees fans are crying watching this game until they quit watching a few batters ago.

This isn't a survivable strategy, especially when facing teams with legit bullpens, but damn, this is quite an impressive few days against bad teams
The offense is bailing out the worst stretch of starting pitching for the team all season
It's really nice to have all of this happening with a 7+ game lead in the division and over everyone else of baseball

Looking at our results for the second half, the three losses at Tampa really stand out as the team just hitting a collective bump - real outliers. Either side of those games...wow. Our offense....we've averaged 10 runs per game in our last 5 wins.

And just take solace in the fact that Yankees fans are crying watching this game until they quit watching a few batters ago. I'm guessing the MFY fans have a site that is similar to this one, and if I didn't feel like I'd be soiled searching it out..... I bet it isn't a lot of fun over there tonight.

I seriously couldn't stomach this site if we were chasing the Yankees like they are chasing the Red Sox this year.
