I haven't done as much research as some of you guys but Will Grier seems like the best fit as far as QBs.

Got the PFF draft guide. It’s pretty intense. Almost 700 pages. Here’s a snippet of Will Grier... his overall grade was 91.2 which is pretty damn good.

No clue how he came up with these but take a look Most of those guys make perfect sense based off numbers or size. I'll admit a few are so-so, but some are perfect.

Love more information, yet I hate reports based off two games of video reviews. That's why some of these reports are so different.

It’s hard to go thru this PFF guide on my phone but some of their grades and spider charts are making me rethink some things. Take DT for example, Lawrence is less attractive for me in the first round now, there is a lot of depth there. A guy like Gaines from University of Washington looks like a really nice alternative at the end of the 3rd round versus Lawrence in the first.
Btw they grade Irv Smith as an average run blocker which I trust more than the other sources. He’s trending up and works hard so I do think he can eventually be really good there but will take some time.
If you’re looking for a chart on a particular player let me know. The spider charts are a nice quick reference.

I’m working on my second Patriots mock draft (not using a simulator) and oddly I’m having a lot of trouble with the first round, second 2nd rd pick and the third round.

I also find the higher rounds harder. So much good talent, the guys you pass over make it crazy hard. Latter rounds you just target in on guys that drop or you like. A lot less options make it rather easy. Later rounds I just target certain traits or roles. Not looking for starters that could become great players.
Will Grier is one of the hardest players to tackle. That West Virginia offense is crazy different and he had a lot of talent. I was very high on him till a bunch of draft guys started questioning his arm. Got average, below average, yet I've also seen he throws a very good deep ball. I'll know more in a few days when my draft magazine arrive. I trust guys that spend a whole year watching tape and scouting these guys over the guys that watch only a few games. Heck I've watched every Notre Dame game over the last four years and I can't give perfect scouting reports on their players. You need the highlight tapes the true experts use. I don't have access to the other camera angles that the film yet don't show on TV.
I'm just really intrigued by this QB class. Everyone has their favorites and all of them make sense to a certain degree. Last year wasn't close to as deep in the middle rounds.
RJP can you post what the QB rankings are for PFF? Like the top 10 and the projected rounds if they have them. Thanks

They don’t list players in a ranking format or predict draft rounds. They list everyone in alphabetical order by position then break down different aspects of their game depending on position and assign grades and an overall grade. I will list the two QBs by their 2018 grades. I just have to go thru them first and sort it so I’ll get it to you later on. There will be some surprises.
They do some rankings by rating in certain situations. Will Grier for example has one of the higher QB ratings on deep balls but he’s near the bottom for under pressure, which is a concern. Jones and Thorson are also near the bottom of the under pressure list but both of them were under pressure A LOT.

Michael Bennett getting traded to the Pats per reports.
EDIT - I was about to add "There goes some of those 2019 picks" but it looks like the deal will include an exchange of 2020 picks. NE gets a 7th as well while giving up a 5th per Jeff McLane

Also, I bet this means they cut Clayborne... Bennette makes 6.2 and 7m... those cap hits are ok it’s a little more than they will save by cutting Clayborne

I kinda see this as Flowers leaving and this is his replacement. I hope your right though.

Yea I think you’re right... still don’t see it as a guaranteed Flowers replacement but it is a security blanket that’s for sure. At least nothings guaranteed so that 8m next year means nothing.

I like the idea of the Bennett brothers, they should be all about winning. I hope....

The roster bonus of 1m is in the form of per game bonuses. Not that it makes a difference but that’s how it’s structured. About 62k per.

Great trade. Hope Martellus replaces Allen. Would be awesome if Seattle swallowed a bit of salary, but considering how small the compensation is, I doubt that’s the case.

Bennett just said he wants a raise right before he got traded so I'm not sure how that's going to work out. He's still pretty good, but needs to be in a heavy rotation.
