And just because he says he wants more doesn't mean he is going to get it, just ask Gronk.

Great trade. Hope Martellus replaces Allen. Would be awesome if Seattle swallowed a bit of salary, but considering how small the compensation is, I doubt that’s the case. He’s been in Philly for a couple years

Bennett just said he wants a raise right before he got traded so I'm not sure how that's going to work out. He's still pretty good, but needs to be in a heavy rotation. Yea... I’m sure there was some tampering he’s not getting a raise

This is going to be the offseason where all the vets come here on short deals to try and win a title.... sign up Cameron Wake - Marty Bennett - Golden Tate and Justin Houston.

Miami has released Danny Amendola per Rap Sheet. Don’t expect him back - he slammed Bill and the Pats. They brought back Brandon Spikes after his 4 years a slave comments. I think it comes down to money, he won't take less now. Yet it's such a perfect fit as a 3rd WR.

He’s not valuable to a non competing team - He’s not going to make much money.

IF they lose Flowers, this is the best way to replace him. As many experts are pointing out, this would protect their comp pick they'd get next year (whereas signing an impact FA would impact the calculation).

Here are the top grades QBs from last season.... this doesn’t mean this is the order in which they are expected to go or should go in the draft. It’s about their play last year. They think Murray and Haskins are in top 10 mix VALUE wise and that Jones, Grier and Lock value lies between the late first and third round.... this is just value talk not where they will actually get picked. They think it’s a weak class filled with question marks and likely backups. Gardner Minshew is interesting when you look at everything together. He’s got one of the shortest average depth of targets but his deep ball rating is high. I included his breakdown below... I need to look into what all these things mean and cross reference other reports. Kyler Murray Oklahoma 94.6 Will Grier West Virginia 91.2 Easton Stick North Dakota St 90.7 Ryan Finley N.C. State. 89.2 Gardner Minshew Washington St 89.1 Drew Lock Missouri 88.9 Brett Rypien Boise St 89.3 Marcus McMaryion Fresno St 88.4 Dwayne Haskins Ohio State 85.0 Daniel Jones Duke 81.9

I’m not really sure what your issue with me is but considering this is the second time in less than a week you’ve seemingly misconstrued my posts and had a snarky sensitive response, I’m more than happy to just not have a conversation with you. Feel free to skip my posts and I’ll do the same. Cool?

He’s not valuable to a non competing team - He’s not going to make much money. His stats are right about the same as his last year with Brady. More playing time, but lesser QBs. He actually increased his catch %. He looks like a 3-4 million a year guy. Which isn't a ton, but its not peanuts either and it's a crazy weak WR class in free agency. I have this feeling Tate is going to cost a lot in this market. Like what better way to talk Brady into a restructure than we'll spend the savings on Danny and Marty. Too guys he had a great connection with.

Eric Weddle kinda proves my point with McCourty. Cut making a lot less, even though PFF had him rated higher signs for 2 years 12.5 million. Yea he's younger, but McCourty has also lost his playmaking ability for the most part.
I only ask because I'm torn in the first round between hoping Farrell drops after a bad combine so we can trade up into the 20's to get him, taking Tillery or looking at Alderlay. In a lot of ways McCourty and Alderlay are very similar, both CB/safety combos.
Any chance of Flowers, which I think is crazy low coming back, you need to free up a ton of cash because your at like 16 million right now with a good amount of needs. Which brings me back to a guy like Ferrell, he's more strength and moves than athletic freak. Is he worth like a 3rd round pick to move up into the 20's? Dump Clayborn, restructure McCourty and even before Brady you'd have tons of money.
I love Tillery I think he's worth pick 32, yet Dre'Mont Jones tanking the combine means he likely falls to late second round if not a little further. Similar player, we hired his defensive coordinator and his tape didn't make him look that slow.
I see everyone saying LB is this massive need. What am I missing? Van Noy and Hightower were awesome in the playoffs and Bentley is coming back. I'd love to target a true 3 down LB to replace Roberts, someone good against the pass. I just don't see the massive need though. Late second early third you could target a Mack Wilson or Te'Von Coney. A guy like LB True Tranquill a converted safety in the 4th or 5th is great against the pass and he's a leader.

My Notre Dame mock. Crazy early just for fun.
32. Clelin Ferrell DE
56. Miles Boykins WR
64. Dre'Mont Jones DT
73. Riley Ridley WR
97. Traded to move up for Ferrell
101. Will Grier QB
134. Alize Mack TE
205. Drue Tranquill LB
239. Stanley Morgan WR
243. Alex Bars G/OT
246. Clayton Thorson QB
252. Easton Sticks QB but will be a convert guy.
I go heavy at WR and QB, but I want competition and upside guys for the practice squad. Was really torn about Ridley given his dreadful combine numbers, but I'm going to trust his route running and hands. Theme was to add size and speed at WR. Giving Brady bigger targets and catch radius to throw too as he gets older.

This is what I have as of now... skipped over the tight end - if they don’t grab one of the big 3 then I don’t see it as a big need assuming Marty Bennett comes back. I do like the kid from Texas A&M, Jace Sternberger and the other one from Stanford, Kaden Smith.
I’m starting to really like Thornhill a lot as a safety. We started to play 3 safety more so even keeping McCourty and Chung you can get a lot out of him next year then know what you have going forward.
I also skipped over QB. It’s possible decent ones fall to the end of the draft because a lot of teams have their young QBs.
1-32: Jerry Tillery DL Notre Dame... he has a wide draft range from mid first to late second. I like him because I feel like he can move around the line which is what the Patriots like.
Previous pick: Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson
2-56: Juan Thornhill S Virginia - really starting to really like this guy.
Previous pick: Deebo Samuel WR South Carolina
2-64 Germaine Pratt LB NC State - this is more a pick I’d like to see but it won’t happen. He doesn’t fit their profile.
***im not projecting a QB but I would be fine with Will Grier here.
Previous pick: Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware
3-73 Andy Isabella WR UMass
Previous pick: Oshane Ximines, DE, Old Dominion
3-97 Gerald Willis DT Miami - good value here
Previous pick: Trey Pipkins OT Sioux Falls
3-101 Max Scharping T/G Northern Illinois... played tackle could go inside to guard. Good size and flexibility to go with Wynn. Gives them options with Thuney being a free agent next year and Cannon getting older and always being banged up.
Previous pick: Kaden Smith TE Stanford
4-124 Charles Omenihu DE Texas - has the size the Patriots like.... next Wise?
Previous pick: Hunter Renfroe WR Clemson
4-134 Stanley Morgan Jr WR Nebraska - Good speed and a great 3 cone. Good hands. Blocking wasn’t great but they can coach that up.
Previous pick: Terry Beckner Jr., DT, Missouri
6-205: Matt Gay K Utah... this changes if they resign Gos... if not, expect them to replace him.... they may have to trade into the 5tg to take him.
Previous pick: Daniel Wise DT Kansas
7-237 Shawn Poindexter WR Arizona - meet my sleeper WR. Good size and speed.. an older prospect at 23... was a late bloomer.
Previous pick: James Williams RB Washington St
7-243 James Williams RB Washington St
Previous pick: Tommy Sweeney TE Boston College
7-246 L J Collier DE TCU
Previous pick: same
7-252 William Sweet UNC OT
Previous pick: Gay K Utah

Here’s Bars info among guards he ranks in top 10 for both pass and run blocking efficiency: Here’s Tranquills... good coverage backer but not strong vs run... he has the look of a guy the Pats could single out and exploit but the rest of the league doesn’t have that ability.... I would like this kind of linebacker which is why I’d love Pratt in the second round - Pratt grades well versus the run tho... obviously a huge difference between rounds and values - I doubt the Pats take a guy like this where I have him.

Would love to see the Pats take Isabella in the 3rd round. Think he’s still available then? I'd say like 65-35 he is right now. I wouldn't take him before the third round, maybe late second. I’d love to see them use their 2nd-round (vs the Bears’) for Isabella. He’s fast as hell and he seems like a REAL good fit for their system. Plus, reading interviews it sounds like he’s kind of a self-made player...lots of hard work to translate his speed to football skills. Just seems like the kind of player who thrives in NE.

Alex Bars started at left guard in 2016, then left tackle for a year, then back to guard last year. For me he's perfect, team Captain and he provided depth at guard and tackle. He's also good enough to start full-time at guard. The injury really hurt his stock, so getting him low is a great value play. Notre Dame OL have done very well recently in the NFL.
Tranquil was also a two time captain and leader. I just see a special teams player and sub-package LB and that's great value later in the draft. I think that fits our team right now unless Hightower is getting released and I don't see that. Tranquil is just the perfect Patriot, he checks all those little boxes Bill loves.
I'm not saying I don't like Pratt, but what's the plan with him? Like he seems perfect as a run stuffing ILB, but we have Bentley for that and they love him. Pratt played ILB, Tranquil played mostly OLB, with Coney at ILB. Tranquil also started at safety for two years. What I'm trying to say is those run numbers just aren't the same as those guys were used very differently. Coney was used like Pratt was. Stopping the run at the first and second level. Tranquil did a lot of second and third level. Certainly not his strong suit I just think all that time at safety is skewing the numbers a little bit comparing him now to LBs now.

I like the two ND guys profiles and would be more than happy with either late in the draft. Bars seems like a perfect guy for Dante to go to work with. He’s similar to why I like Scharping only he can likely be had later. Pratt isn’t a run stuffing inside linebacker, he’s only 240. He’s a coverage linebacker who can play in space; he’s not a very good pass rusher but he can shoot the gaps off of blitz’s. Oddly enough he’s also a converted safety like Tranquill. Basically, everything you said about Tranquill would apply to Pratt. Basically, we’d both like to see them add a lighter linebacker who can add speed and excel in coverage. The key is finding one who won’t get destroyed in the run game and I think Pratt can do that. (Not saying Tranquill couldn’t). A guy like this can help with sub packages and offer some depth behind even a guy like Chung. Germaine Pratt 6’2 240lbs w/ a 4.57 40 DRUE TRANQUILL 6’2 234 w/ a 4..57 40

Amendola to the Lions. I figured a return here was very unlikely but still was hoping for it. Oh well.. got 4.5m Guaranteed for on year with incentives that can take it to almost 6m.... that’s an unfortunate indicator of what the market might be like....
