Meanwhile, Jets adding Barr and Moseley to Williamson and Lee.

Right now the patriots move for Bennett is the only A acquisition according to Bill Barnwell of this entire off-season

Found this interesting.... on average Pats only return 61% of their roster and its fairly consistent:

So who are the one to two Veteran WRs we bring in? Heck they might bring in more like last year. I know Tate is the logical choice, yet they went after Humphries. Which made total sense, yet just like with Tate money is likely a big issue. Edelman makes 5.5 million, unless you give him a raise you can't really go flying past that. Heck you'd need to sign a really good player to even go close to it.
There just isn't much out there and even the Beasley, Brown, and Cobb tier might be out of reach unless one of those guys wants to play for us.
Any trade targets being talked about that aren't OBJ?
If he was dirt cheap Kelvin Benjamin intrigues me. Not close to a good fit, yet he adds size and catch radius. An endzone target. He might not make it out of camp, but outside of a trade or more players hitting the market were likely looking at a bunch of guys like him to build up depth and competition. They'll draft guys, but you can't count on rookie WRs as anything more than depth. Unfortunately for us the cheap guys this year are a lot of busts that don't run good routes. Maybe a Tavon Austin to replace Patterson on kickoffs, maybe punts, and WR depth.
Looking at the WRs in free agency just highlights the importance of drafting WRs high this year. You can't count on them, but they likely have the highest upside. Not a strong class at the top. Like I don't see many first round talents. Yet it's loaded after that, very good depth. While unlikely is there a guy that has value enough at pick 32? Some mocks have four first round WRs. After a RB last year anything seems possible right now.
From Lindy's Sport best release Marquise Brown, Route Running Deebo Samuel, after the catch A.J. Brown.

We don’t have hardly any money left and a lot of picks that, while cheap, we still need to pay. Furthermore, BB likes to have some cap room going into the season for trades.

Depending who you go by they had 16 to 17 million. Tendered 5 million to Jones and Gordon, yet Gordon can't sign till or if he's reinstated.
They will create more space one way or another. The fact they went after Humphries proves they can sign free agents and have a plan.
I really see a zero percent chance its Edelman and Gordon plus rookies. They will bring in at minimum veteran depth at WR. You pencil in Gordon as a 5th or 6th guy, if you get more great. You can't count on him being your #2 WR.

Among players with 400 attempts, Jamie Collins has the best sack rate in the entire NFL since 2014. Don’t be surprised to see him back in New England.

Don’t be surprised to see him back in New England. www.footballperspective.com/which-defenses-are-the-best-at-recording-sacks/He has 17.5 sacks in those 5 years. Even if he had only 400 attempts that wouldn't even be the overall sack rate for the league. Even if that is true it means very little as true pass rushers will have more than 400 attempts a year, not in 5 years. It just like Van Noy and Hightower looking like dominate pass rushers because of how they were used. Which wasn't a ton and why it caught the D by surprise and worked so well. Our new defensive coordinator moved on from Bennett because he did too much free lancing. I think Seattle helped fix Bennett, the Browns didn't fix Collins. I won't rule anything out, but highly unlikely. He could be a stud if he wasn't a moron and would listen to the coaches.

How can you sign a deal when suspended from the league? I've never seen a guy sign a deal till they were reinstated before. They had to tender the contract to keep his rights.

My initial instinct was no way they’d want Collins back but then there were reports they had internal discussions about trading for him last year so there’s likely some interest if the money is right. I’m hoping for Houston or Cameron Wake

But if he was used in a role like Hightower or Van Noy, he could be very effective. He’s not great in space but the Patriots don’t ask their linebackers to do that.

Rowe to the Dolphins per Rapsheet.
Actually wanted him back figuring that JMac would want a guaranteed starting gig and Gilmore/Jackson/Jones(or Dawson) just needed a cheap veteran backup.
