A little late, but at least they eventually did the right thing.

Passan reporting that Astros have fired Taubman. EDIT: Looks like Houston HAS apologized to the writer now (removed my original comment). As near as I can tell, they apologized for the incident, but have not apologized for initially responding to the incident by saying that Apstein was lying about it. Unless I'm missing something. ADD: To clarify, I'm saying they haven't apologized for putting out this rather libelous statement:

If any of those reporters had a sense of humor tomorrow mornings headline would read (troll) something about the Astros announcing a management move like that during the WS.

I will remember 2019 as the year when every time I clicked on the non-Sox thread and accidentally didn't go to the latest post I saw a picture of a two-foot-long chicken finger. The season will end very soon, but we will always have Processed Chicken Oracle of Arlington in our hearts and haunting our dreams.

I was thinking that before the mods lock it, the thread should be bookended (by a non vegan please) with an appropriate photo. btw, it's also funny that the original post was by a poster with the handle, grandsalami.

Looks to me like an apalogy for mischaracterizing the incident, not for calling Apstein a liar. That might seem like a subtle distinction, but they really impugned her integrity and attacked her reputation as a journalist. It deserves to be directly addressed. She seems to feel the same way:

I don’t think we need to start rating these incidents; it inadvertently makes some “not that bad”.

Let’s start off with a little gluttony. Rangers are selling a “Fowl Pole” It’s an 18inch 2 pound chicken finger Bump for the Fowl Pole, both for wittiness and sheer gluttonous delicious grossness.

I'd still eat that chicken like a maniac. Probably die afterwards but I don't even care.
