I'm a few episodes into "The Boys" on Amazon and love it. Premise: what if all the Avengers were corporate a-holes, and some folks tried to stop them from running amok. Very R rated but solid so far.

Oh I totally forgot to mention The Leftovers as a recommendation. It's bizarre, a little sci-fi, bizarre and just keeps your total attention despite not quite knowing why. You don't ever figure out who is good or bad so you can't figure out who to root for. It's written by the same guys as Lost, but is put together much better. So I watched it with the wifey, nothing else on during the summer. Was certainly worth watching, very different and at least we did get an ending that wasn't horrible like Lost. Kinda wish they went to the ending crap earlier and spent time on it.

I'm onto Dexter now. I never watched it before. There are 96 episodes, so it'll be awhile. I'm up to season 4.
The show is fascinating, but there is so much campy dialog and bad acting (thinking primarily of sister Deb and girlfriend/wife Rita). I'm already seeing the show slip. Season 3 with Miguel was so predictable with how it was going to turn out. Deb's relationship with Lundy was also ridiculous. All of Deb's relationships were ridiculous.
Mindhunter is so much better, though it's hard and probably not fair to compare. Serial killers are the new zombies.

If I remember right season 5 with Julia Stiles was one of my favorites, then you get Hannah McKay who changes everything. I really enjoyed it, heck been so long now having a hard time remembering everything. Will certainly rewatch it at some point when I have crap loads of time.

Dexter season 7, LOL. Dexter season 8, LMFAO and I'm just on episode 2.
Hate watching it now, just to see how it ends. I bet it sucks.
I think the timeline showing how fast I watched this shows how much I've watched the Red Sox lately. haha

You watched 4 plus seasons in four days, yea I'd say you haven't been watching almost anything else lol. That's non-stop Dexter for four days.
Been enjoying Power from Starz, something different.

I'm a few episodes into "The Boys" on Amazon and love it. Premise: what if all the Avengers were corporate a-holes, and some folks tried to stop them from running amok. Very R rated but solid so far. I’ve been wanting to check it out; lots of rave reviews. I’m also going to check out “Carnival Row,” which seems right up my alley; Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne are really solid choices for those roles...kinda reminds me of the sort of storyline you’d find in an anime. As for “The Boys,” I honestly can’t think of a more apropos script-flip in today’s society. It’s an absolutely terrific premise, and I’m pretty excited. I just watched the movie “Brightburn,” which is a dark retelling of the Superman mythology, and while it was far from perfect, it was MUCH more disturbing than I’d anticipated. Outstanding stuff. I get the sense “The Boys” will likewise be suitably dark for my tastes.

If you're in the mood for something creepy I thought You was pretty good. “You”? What’s it on? I’ll look it up on IMDB, but yeah, i love creepy stuff. I’ve never been big on slasher/murder/gore (although gore done right can really make all the difference), but i absolutely love creepy...whether it’s psychologically/emotionally or visually/aurally disturbing, I’m a big fan of the slow burn and movies/shows that kinda worm their way into my head and nest there. “Brightburn” was a good example recently for a movie; the season 3 Black Mirror episode about the robot “attack dogs” run amok really got to me, too. Especially seeing the Boston Dynamics *actual* robots in action. That ish is scary AF. No wonder Elon Musk is decrying robotics/AI as the death knell of humanity:

That's a rough one to binge with all the violence. I got physically ill when I did that with 24 and all the torture. For me, the violence wasn't much of a problem, after a bazillion violent shows you get more or less immune to it. For me for binge watching, I prefer more variety, different themes etc. This one was pretty much the same story every week. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but there really wasn't much variety. Maybe for my next binge watch, I'll find a comedy series. Haven't watched any since Friends. For now I'm going to do some research, I always found the sociology of religion as interesting and a friend made a statement that Deuteronomy (Devarim in the Torah) was the beginning of individual rights logic so I want to pursue that thought. Studying 1000 BC Canaan now. My favorite comedies of the last 10-15 years: “Arrested Development” (the writing is on a whole other level from just about any show, ever, and the cast is absolutely fantastic), and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which manages to take the absolute worst people and make them likable, and take the most disturbing subject material, and make it hilarious. Point of reference, I loved the first 2 seasons of “Friends,” liked the 3rd, then stopped watching. I might actually go back and re-watch(and catch up), but...idk, the romance/pseudo-drama stuff just took over and took a lot of the fun out of it for me. Kind of like “Ally McBeal,” which was an absolutely terrific show it’s first season, and then...*poof*...the magic was totally gone. Lmk if you find a good comedy tho, other than “The League,” which was solid but not fantastic, and “Archer,” and “Rick and Morty” (that one is animation gold) I haven’t found much I really recall being impressed by.

For me, I liked Cheers when it came out but it didn't age well. I never liked the characters Diane or Frasier so when I tried to binge watch it, I found them too annoying to get past season 4. Coach was my favorite character but he was replaced by Woody who was also good.
I'm still binging Friends. I'm up to season 9 but I have to take time between seasons, Monica and Chandler are too much and not good characters to binge on.
Next on my list, Steinfeld.
I always like the oddball characters like Coach, Woody, Jim on Taxi, Clinger, Kramer, Archie Bunker, Joey on Friends. ADD: Kelly Bundy.

Would it have been so hard for Hannah to dye and/or cut her hair in season 8 of Dexter when the entire city of Miami was looking for her? Maybe wear a baseball hat and stop wearing hooker dresses?
One billion monkeys with one billion typewriters for one billion years could not come up with a worse ending for Dexter.
edit - what's so bizarre is that I would watch re-runs of it like it was Friends or Seinfeld if it were on. Definitely the strangest show I've ever watched. I don't quite know why I liked it so much because there are a million plot holes and so much bad acting and writing. I can't even review it except to say you've got to see it.

It's essentially about a super romantic/nice guy who really is just an over-the-top creepy stalker who is really, really, really good at stalking, and that the girl he's stalking is also kind of an idiot. I recently just watched "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" I wish I had more hands to give it more thumbs up. If you don't mind blood/gore/cartoon Castlevania was fantastic. Up next for me is Disenchantment season 2 (first was a big meh) and Stranger Things season 3 (I can't understand why I haven't been getting into it. I LOVED season 1 and 2 and I'm sure I'll love season 3).

Highly, highly recommend The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. It's like Exorcist/Shining good.

For Breaking Bad fans, El Camino on Netflix was a strong coda to the Jesse Pinkman story. I hated how the show ended for him and was glad to revisit it. A little uneven plot and a little bit of fan service but still excellent pacing and tension.

It's been years since I watched Breaking bad, yet I was confused by the scene with Jesse's and Mike at the river. Given the cars and his face it was a flash back, yet did we ever see that before? Trying to tie that into the original and when that happened.

Idk if anyone else could’ve pulled of Kelly Bundy that well.

I recently binge watched all of the Hulu Series Letterkenny and I highly recommend it. It has enough campy humor, and the characters are easy to like.

Servant is quite a show that I'm enjoying with my gf. It's the good version of M. Night Shyamalan. Not 6th Sense good, but pretty damn good.
I finished The Witcher and really liked it but know that not everyone will.

I'm about to start The Outsider which is getting incredible reviews. Still has a 9.2 on IMDB. Based on a Stephen King book.
This must be why Ozark took a long break since Jason Bateman is in it. But Ozark is returning in February or March.
