Dylan Thompson is also making his AA debut. In his last stint in MiLB, he topped out at A+.

Wilkerman Gonzalez with a very good debut outing: 3.1 IP, 1 BB, 5 K For those not familiar with the name, he was considered by Baseball America one of the 12 international sleeper prospects to watch in 2019. Here's what Ben Badler has to say about him:
WIKELMAN GONZALEZ, RHP, RED SOX
Gonzalez, 16, has been one of the biggest risers among Boston’s 2018 international signings. During the amateur scouting process, he was throwing 83-86 mph with plus arm speed from a skinny, long-limbed frame (6 feet, 145 pounds). His velocity started to creep up, and as he put on 15-20 pounds, Gonzalez now has reached 93 mph. He has a fast, high-energy delivery that creates a lot of torque and leverage.
Gonzalez is still learning to keep it under control, but he profiles as a starter with a three-pitch mix, backing up his fastball with a hard, three-quarters breaking ball and a changeup.

How about Albert Feliz? We thought Bryan Gonzalez had a big game, but Feliz whacked 3 HRs and apparently just missed a 4th one settling for a double.

With Duran getting promoted, the DSL, Lowell, and Portland teams should be really fun this summer.

Appreciate the scouting report radiohix! Just want to note this was actually his 2nd appearance....he started the opener but only went a couple of innings. On the year he's now gone 5.1 IP with 8Ks to 2BBs (but given up 8H and 3ER). Still though the K to BB ratio is good to see in a league where its not at all surprising for a dude to put up 8BBs to 2Ks.

Regarding the hits, I personally don't care how much a pitching prospect in the low Minors get hit unless it's HRs or he has an extreme flyball profile because of the rough defenses behind them that could turn grounders into infield hits, doubles into triples etc etc. Just how I see things and that's why I never mention them on this board 😅

Dylan Hardy up to Pawtucket. As Dunnzo pointed out on Twitter, there hasn't been a player to play for 4 affiliates (excepting rehab assignments) in quite some time. I hope he gets in a game and hits the full-season affiliate grand slam.

Jantzen Witte with today's "taking one for the team" award, pitching the last inning of a PawSox loss in the first game of the DH. Maybe don't look at the box score.

Perhaps they'd best stick with Mike Miller & Cole Sturgeon in that role. EDit: Note ... Marco H is not injured. He was ejected from game 2, arguing a strikeout. Hardy starting game 2. Gets the 4-level slam.

Mata with a really nice return: 5IP 2H 0ER 1BB 5K, 8GO-0FO I'll continue to lead the campaign for Mata. As I've mentioned before, he has to be at least a top 6 prospect. For me, he is #2, currently. Only behind Casas.

Might've been! But just in case. We usually get a couple questions on it a year.
