Vazquez has to do a better job there, shorten ur swing and put the ball in play instead of trying to swing so hard In other words he was putrid?

Have I told you recently that I love you, Devers? He's already taken...

I love to read George King when the Yankees lose a tough game....He has to dig it in....A noted beginning to one post game article..."The stench emenating from Yankee stadium last night was putrid"..... ....and you can look it up.

How do the Orioles have another challenge? They get another one in extra innings?

Fun Fathers Day memory that is relevant here.
Several years ago I’m watching the Greenville Drive play at Charleston with my then middle school aged son. In the first (maybe second) inning a very baby faced Rafael Devers hits a laser beam opposite field HR, but the umpire called it a ground rule double. My son and I were sitting near third and it was clearly a home run but the LF did a decent job of selling it as a ground rule double. Devers is standing on second and he’s hot about it. He started arguing with the ump who’d just made the call and got tossed.
He gets replaced by Michael Chavis who hit a screaming line drive of his own that day. I play the big shot minor league genius with my son and tell him that he’s watching three certain major league players (Moncada was at second base). This wasn’t actually on Father’s Day, but it’s a fun little memory of watching a game with one of my sons that involves two guys on the roster I started following and leaning about because of this site.

Loved that they were playing Rearviewmirror by Pearl Jam on the PA. That's where the Red Sox are looking at to see the Orioles in the standings. They're a tiny dot by now.

Is devers a future MVP candidate??? I say yes Not being a homer but I believe so. Has one of the most beautiful swings I have seen in a while, not to mention extra ordinary opposite field power. I read he weighed around 240 at 6 foot tall. Like to see him get down to 220-225 of good weight.

He always is taking an extra base and not getting thrown out either.

It is not unfair to say that that was a good win but an unimpressive display of fundamentals. I’ll certainly take it, but I also don’t think the Sox can play like that and expect the same results against the Twins.
Still... lapses and Smiths aside, the bats appear to be heating up collectively. Mookie and JD have come alive, Devers maintains his savaging of hides, chavis seems to be making adjustments, JBJ is in good-JBJ mode, Vaz is hitting... good things ahead.
