they aren't pitching to the outer half enough, IMO. It seems like the were dying on the inner half hill.

We are not going to have first half 2018 Sale at any point this year, I am afraid.

Anybody left who does not think That sale’s shoulder is fried?
He just can not execute his pitches properly.

He hit a batter, he couldn't put guys away and batters were fouling him off all game. He lost it in the fifth inning.
He simply had bad command all game.

Sale is cooked. Silly that we extended him knowing about the shoulder.

Sale is the reason your big move is for Cashner, it really doesn’t matter what moves you make if he’s going to pitch like this the rest of the season. Him figuring out what we, is the only chance the Sox have to repeat.

I hope Sale figures it out. for his sake and mine. I don't think I can take 5 years of "what could have been" Sale. It will likely drive me crazy.
I get the bar was so high and unsustainable, but i don't care about the numbers, the expectations are killing me.

So much for taking advantage of the Rays and NYY loses today.

Now we get to enjoy the awesomeness of Heater Hembree.

Sale's slider and fastball are still elite. He needs to develop a functional change up, that he can rely on.
Look at the changes Price made. that is what Sale will likely have to do. I don't think it is just his shoulder. He has to learn a knew approach.

Hembree is still operating on 92-94 mph heat, when he was regularly in mid to upper 90's with the fastball.

I don't know why Leon is hitting here.

And to add to the frustration - we just don't seem to score when Sale pitches.

I'm going to get the second tv up and put this game in the background.
The Sox should be getting to Strickland 2nd time through the order and they aren't. So annoying.

Well, Leon isn't magic for the pitchers, so we can't afford his "bat" in the line up.

Make Sale lose his lackey. The combo stinks.

Brewer is just painful to watch pitch - no idea where that ball will end up.

Man, Brewer's command is bad. It's what makes him a fringe roster guy, at the moment.
I imagine we will be excited to see Velazquez go the next 2 innings after this 6th inning.

Joe Kelly is in. Here comes the offense. Lol

So with Cashner joining and Johnson coming back at some point (unless there is something serious going on), we will have the roster crunch of mediocre arms. Taylor seems pretty valuable - so who heads down? Velazquez? Brewer? Walden?

Yeah, we occasionally saw this Joe Kelly. Xander is having a magical season.
