McGrath has obviously been awesome, but his numbers at Portland were good last year, too. I am wondering if there has been any change in his scouting report from where it stands now on his page? Is he still working 86-88? Has his upside advanced at all?

Loubier and Simas have been assigned numbers, so wonder if we are on the verge of their debuts.

Lucas pitched yesterday. Today should be YPA or whoever has been piggybacking Murphy in game 2.
I think you can ignore the Lowell website and go with who's next in the rotation. Their game notes were wrong yesterday as well.

Their game notes were wrong yesterday as well. Thanks, Chris. Yup, I saw that he pitched yesterday, I just didn't connect it to the probables. MiLB rarely has probables for Lowell, so I just went with theirs. But I usually look at the Lineups tab to get a good idea. YPA pitched Saturday, so he'd be my best guess (on 6 days rest), along with Murphy.

Triston Casas still only has 13 plate appearances against pitchers who are younger than he is.

Nice day for Matthew Lugo - 2 for 4 with a double, triple, stolen base, HBP, and three runs scored. Up to .270/.343/.429, very solid.

What Gilberto Jimenez continues to do at Lowell at his age is super impressive

Brendan Cellucci just made his debut out of the pen. Picked a guy off and got a K in a scoreless inning I have high hopes for him. I love me some lefty power relievers

Brendan Cellucci just made his debut out of the pen. Interesting that they brought him out of the pen as opposed to most of the other non-senior pitchers they've drafted over the last few years that have been piggyback starters. Maybe doesn't mean anything, just something I noted.

I have seen Lugo twice now and I just want to go on record as saying this kid is a future starter for us. The swing is legitimate.
He needs a couple years for the body to develop, additional at bats and experience facing off speed and breaking balls. After he passes those tests, he is in Boston,

Lots of talk about Rafaela from Alex Speier, and Perez seems to keep hitting this year. How was Brock Bell's velo today? Any other observations besides Lugo?

Unfortunately, I see Lugo as the only future tier 1 prospect. Casas? I think he was talking about the guys in the GCL

Unfortunately, I see Lugo as the only future tier 1 prospect. That's probably not an unfair assessment although a bit subjective, Tier 1 prospect means elite, it's not likely that we would have multiple clear tier 1 prospects under current evaluation standards at GCL. It doesn't mean that more couldn't evolve in the future and it doesn't guarantee that Lugo will develop that way and it also doesn't mean that lower tiers have no value. I have no issues with that statement, it's a subjective compliment to Lugo and it pretty much ends there. ADD: It's also good to know that a poster with a relatively solid history here has seen Lugo and has that high of an opinion.

Brian Johnson with a solid 3 innings at Pawtucket I'm going to say solid two innings Phil, his first inning was pretty shaky, but then he really dominated the next two. Fastball was only 89 - 91, but that curve was outstanding. But then there is Lakins; the box score shows he did not walk anybody, but he was all over the place. He was lucky he got the outs that he did.
