Don't give him that much credit, Charlotte is a bandbox and that home run last night barely got over the left field wall.
On a good note, after a somewhat shaky first inning in relief Johnson looked really good. Fastball was only 89 - 91, but the curve was excellent.

Not sure where to ask this.
Just saw in Transactions: Greenville - Added Breiner Licona from the GCL (paper move) and placed him on the il. Why PM him to Greenville couldn't he be on IL in GCL?

Rough debut for Loubier, but he probably hasn’t seen game action in a bit
Montero walked all 4 guys he faced. The pitch tracking for the GCL isn’t accurate right? Because if it is he threw 16 straight balls

Another great outing for Nixson Munoz: 6IP 3H 0ER 0BB 5K
Brainer was another HR.

His home run last night almost left the stadium. 440 feet. And an HR in 6 straight games! Gotta give the man props for that. Nobody has else done it.

9 Hits for the GCL Sox - but no player had 2 hits.
EDIT - Spoke too soon. I thought the game was over. Klieber Rodriguez doubled in a run in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game - his 3nd hit of the afternoon. Extras in the GCL.

This is why the rosters are so large.

The reserve list limit in the GCL is the same as the active roster limit. There isn't really an IL there. There are already 3 other guys on the Drive IL paper moved off the GCL roster. By the way, in case it's unclear, those guys are all still in Fort Myers.

Keith Law had a brief write-up on Gilberto Jimenez, Ryan Zeferjahn, and Cameron Cannon from his look early this week. It's insider only, but here are the highlights: -Jimenez might be an 80 grade runner, but is at least a 70. Potential leadoff hitter. -Zeferjahn is dealing with a hangnail issue so can't throw his curveball or find the strike zone. His fastball as 93-96 with "big life". -Cannon is as low as a 20 grade defender at short. Has a good approach at the plate. www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/27269596/law-scouting-low-minors-yankees-red-sox-phillies-prospects-trade-chips

I saw Jimenez live and if he's not an 80 runner, then I don't think one has ever existed. Glad his times (confirmed by soxprospects scouts) matched what I saw with my eyes. Very alarming to hear Cannon is that much a liability in the field

I read some of your opinions from Gulf Coast League. Curious, what are your thoughts on some of top prospects like Mata, Duran, Dalbec, Casas and even Groome?

Cannon is not a shortstop. He should be playing 2B or LF

He started at 2nd base today for the first time IIRC. They saw enough and decided to ditch the experience?

His home run last night almost left the stadium. 440 feet. That was LOUD contact. Sounded like a HR for sure. He’s an interesting pickup. Former highly-rated guy, who provides real insurance at multiple positions. Idk where this power streak is coming from but I like it. Curious to learn if there’s a swing change in there.
