You gotta be f*cking kidding me on the 3rd strike to JDM. That has to be one of the top 5 most ridiculous calls of the season.

time for a doubleheader sweep maybe not if the umpire is going to pander to the crowd like that

Sale is done.
Just DL him for the season.

Here are some fun facts about DJ LeMahieu:
- He is 31 years old. No one who is 30+ is in the top ten in fWAR. LeMahieu is ranked 15th, which is the highest of any 30+ pleyer.
- He has a career .334 wOBA, playing most of his career at Coors Field. This year his wOBA is .383.
- Prior to this year he has averaged 7 home runs per year. His career high had been 15. This season he already has 16.
Yankee black magic.

Sale is done. Just DL him for the season. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict some HR/FB reversion to the mean for the rest of this game.

Sale is done. Just DL him for the season. I have been an optimist, but if they lose today (certainly both, maybe one), it is worth considering. Why add wear to an arm that doesn’t seem right when the season is sliding away?

Damn, I wish that was a 305 foot HR instead of 436 feet.
Too bad that wasn't with runners on 1st and 2nd in the first inning, like it should have been.

It’s weird that the Sox lineup has guys (eg. Benny) who could end the year with gaudy stats but who really weren’t there when they needed them. I feel like if Mookie, JD, and Benny hadn’t gotten off to soft starts, the season could have been different.

I guess people are waiting for something bad to happen to post. Not much to say sometimes. How about this as a conversation starter... Since 2000, has there been a less effective hitter Leon? Serious question. Without looking at any stats, I can’t immediately think of anyone. Julio Lugo was awful, but not like this guy. My question goes to the body of work for the player over multiple years, not simply who had the absolute crappiest single year at the plate. Thoughts anyone?

Xander walked but then the ump made sure he didn't. That's the 2nd walk not allowed now.

i wish we could see more Marco than Brock There's not much difference between them. Holt walks more and Hernandez has a little more power but hasn't walked all season. I'll take the OBP. And Hernandez is still in tiny sample size territory. We'll see him today for sure though.

i wish we could see more Marco than Brock I was thinking the same thing Holt has the highest BA, OBP, and SLG numbers of his career. You all aren't happy with that? I think I'd rather see Marco than Moreland, though.
