I've loved JBJ as a player for years, but have come around to thinking they just can't afford this very often useless bat any longer. Ks and roll overs to 2nd due to stubbornness in not going the opposite way ...why?

Putrid is the word to describe this team and manager.

3 strikeout game for Raffy. He's still getting his share of extra base hits when he hits, but definitely slowed down of late.

Putrid is the word to describe this team and manager. If Baseball and Basketball somehow got merged tomorrow, are you taking Cora or Stevens?

I could see an American League team giving him a 4 year $80M contract. Which is an extra year & $15M. DD should of traded him at the deadline. Damn the media & fan reaction it was the smart thing to do. And if he opted out the Sox could of been the one signing him & had the traded players.

Anyone here who is medically inclined with insight as to what a "knee joint preservation procedure" is? The end of his playing career. At this point they’re basically trying to set him up so he can walk pain-free and not need a TKR at 40 or 45. They’re doing subchondroplasty...trying to preserve whatever cartilage he has left, probably cleaning out any chips or spurs or scar tissue that’s limiting movement. I would be **shocked** if he didn’t retire. It sucks, and I f’ing hate Manny Machado even more now, but honestly I really just hope Pedey doesn’t try to come back and make it even worse. This is beyond baseball at this point, it’s about basic quality of life.

I am pleased that Machado’s dirty slide is finally being accepted as exacerbating Pedey’s knee issues and, ultimately leading to the end of his career. Causation. I will be in San Diego for the Sox-Padres games and plan to do something I have rarely done: become a boo- bird for Machado every time he is on the field.

Josh Taylor on the mound
Normal rules require that he face one batter ....which is the current batter.
Edit: Royals.com has Junis as starter on Fri, so they are going with bullpen. Junis, Montgomery an and the 4 ineligible pitchers are probably not in Boston. So they have 7 pitchers, including 5 rested relievers. Same for Sox, really.
