DSL2 team gives up 6 stolen bases, but throws out 3. Guess that's about average. Marcano was the catcher.
Sutherland (22 year old in GCL) now up to 14 scoreless innings to start his professional career. Nice job young man.

Hopefully Casas has one more hot streak in him this year. Been a bit quiet recently High school draftee with essentially zero pro ball before this year, I'd kind of expect him to be gassed at this point.

Dalbec is making his first start at first base tonight according to the PawSox Twitter feed. Interesting.

Someone ask Bannister what he told McGrath.

Someone ask Bannister what he told McGrath. I'm telling ya, Paul Abbott. McGrath isn't a Bannister kind of pitcher.

McGrath does line up with Cashner now. Anytime they want to make the switch.

With Kevin Thomas tweeting and McGrath on the mound, hopefully we'll get an interview.
Personal opinion but Paul Abbott is our best pitching coach since Mike Cather many moons ago.

I know it’s not sustainable (the low-1 ERA, to start, driven by a .228 BABIPA from an 8% LD rate...), but it sure is fun to watch. He’s getting plenty of whiffs and his IFFB rate is high, along with the low LD rate. I wonder how much is “crafty late-blooming soft-tossing lefty” and how much is just smoke and mirrors. But yeah, as James mentions, with the season basically collapsed why not see what the kid can do?

Just to be clear, the bit about him replacing Cashner was tongue in cheek.
I think.

Odd that McGrath is not listed on any roster in the SP 2020 projections.

Odd that McGrath is not listed on any roster in the SP 2020 projections. He’s a free agent after this season. Yet there are others listed on 2020 potential rosters who will also be free agents. They are shown as “potential acquisitions”. At any rate, Danny deserves to be offered a contract based on this year’s performance alone. Late comer to the party.

Maybe the drop Cashner and give this free agent a shot for the last 6 or 7 weeks of the season and see if he has the chance to translate. He is a hot arm if nothing else. Nothing really to lose at this point
