welp...not the way to start. Angels really love them some Porcello. And with his Binky Leon catching too.

352 feet on a pitch outside of the strike zone. What is a pitcher supposed to do?

Porcello likes the danger zone.

Sandy swings and strikes out to end the inning. First time for everything.

another southpaw with a 5 plus ERA shuts down our bats. Mystifying.

OMG, replace everyone. 16 runs one night, 0 runs in the first 2 innings. Panic!

OMG, replace everyone. 16 runs one night, 0 runs in the first 2 innings. Panic! As the team sits with improbable odds of reaching the playoffs, playing against a team with a losing streak of 8 games. 16 runs still only counts for 1 win. Every game should be taken as a panic attack at this point, if you still have hopes for the playoffs.

Every game should be taken as a panic attack at this point, if you still have hopes for the playoffs. I'm not panicking ever. It's just entertainment. I also love how some people refuse to look at stats and scoffs at anyone who does, but then looks at the pitcher's ERA and doesn't watch how he's painting the edges with 95 mph fastballs over and over again to go with a nasty changeup. The painting has stopped this inning, but he was incredibly nasty in the first two innings. Either use real stats, or use your eyes. But use one of them.

I guess they wanted to be conservative there. X missed some nice chances.

JDM is about to do something clutch here.
edit. HBP wasn’t what I was thinking.

We are 16-19 this year in games started by left handed starters. With Mookie, JDM, CVaz and Xander in the line up on a regular basis as our right handed bats, that's troubling.

Just going to go out and say it. They need to cut Porcello. Doesn’t matter that they don’t have anyone else - they can’t be worse than him.

I'm going to go ahead and say it, if they can retain Porcello for 4-5 million, I'd bring him back. Maybe incentive laden on IP and waive him if he's not living up to expectations.

Porcello catches a lot of hell around here. 10-8, 5.54, 10 quality starts out of 23, 149 hits in 128 innings could lead to such things!

This guy's pitches hit the black at least 50% of the game so far. If he always pitched like this, he'd by a Cy Young contender.

Ha, no complaining about the backup catcher for at least one atbat.
Then JBJ singles on about as nasty of a pitch as he could.
