8/16 Gameday Thread: Mata, Ward, Bello, Song, & Hart. Wow!!

Doesn't the rain in Florida usually pass by late afternoon? Wouldn't a chunk of this just be fixed by playing evening games? I've never done Florida in the summer, so I may be totally off on that one. Afternoon/early evening is generally the heaviest shower time for florida during the rainy season. Mornings will happen some, same with later on in the evenings, but afternoon/early evenings is "usually" the worst. That said? Here in Lakeland and this area.. I'd say it's been with out looking at total rainfall totals, one of the heavier overall totals in several years rain wise. There are certain years where it's not quite as heavy, or thunderstorm season may start early/end early, start late and end late, but heavier rain times generally hold true regardless. I lived in Florida for a few years and had to get out. Baseball shouldn't be played in that state in the summer. The rain and humidity are unbearable

Ward continues to dominate. Anyone who saw him live tonight thoughts?
Bello knows how to miss bats
Song...WOW
Mata seemed to have recovered very well and still struck out 7 including retiring final 9 batters. Ian stated Mata sat 95-97 for 2 innings and flashed a plus Ct. 95-96 in the 6th inning on FB. My question is how effective was his curve? In highlights, it looked plus to me with the late tight break 12-6, but experts who watch him live see it differently

I'm sure there are players in the minors who can figure out how to put up runs against Song, but none of them appear to be hanging out in the NY-Penn League. So yes, it would be no great surprise if he moves up a notch after Lowell's season ends.

Really nice to see Nick Decker having such a good season after having last season cut so short for him.

Song is a pitcher with a capital P. If I gotta get taxed for made up forever wars, use it to buy drones.
