Our team’s inability to develop quality starting pitching started long before desperate Dave got hired and will probably continue after Henry shows him the door. Dave gets a pass on that issue. Doubt I'm the only one to say this, but that "desperate" Dave nonsense sounds really silly. The man has 40 years plus in the game and has been in 4 World Series and has 2 championships, including last season when the Red Sox won more games than they ever have in their century long plus history or perhaps you've already forgotten. "Dealer" Dave is a more sensible nickname than that stupid "desperate" Dave crap. Even if Dombrowski loses his job after this offseason, I doubt he'd be out of work for long.

It's been almost exactly two years since I last commented on this site, my last posts was about how we shouldn't make future plans around Daniel Flores because of how young he was (RIP) and yet I felt I just had to log-in and comment on this ridiculous thread. Fire Dombrowski? Since Dombrowski's first season the Red Sox are 3rd in the MLB in wins, averaging a winning % of about .580. We had the MOST wins in the MLB from 2016-2018. We won the division three years in a row, and won a world series just LAST YEAR. This year is admittedly a disappointing year, but this team is still on an 87 win pace or so, and BaseRuns shows we've had a very unlucky season, as we're one of the most unlucky teams in the MLB and our true talent is more like a .575 winning %.
Compare this to Cherington, who took the team to not one, not two, but three last place seasons out of the 4 years he was here and signed 2 of the worst FA contracts in Red Sox history. The Dombrowski tenure here has been an absolute smashing success as is exemplified by maybe the best Red Sox team ever just LAST YEAR. People were cutting Cherington slack in 2015 just because of 2013, yet apparently in 2019 in a much better year than 2015 and 2014, Dombrowski gets no slack.
In addition, the "Dombrowski traded away too many prospects" thing is also pretty absurd. If you look at the top prospects Dombrowski traded away, Espinoza is likely never going to amount to anything, Kopech isn't looking too great, Margot is fine, but nothing special, and Moncada is having a good year. Keep in mind we got Chris freaking Sale for Moncada.

Giving Moncada away and not Benintendi seemed like the smart move for a while.
Of course now the news is out Dombrowski is out. They are still the defending world champs, so there has to be something other than impatience, with a team that is trying to restock on the fly, right?
