If anyone out there is wondering if I'm reaching for a My Sharona reference..... Yes, I most certainly am.

Will be keeping an eye on how many pitches Shawaryn throws. If it's starter length, gotta think he's the next spot starter.

Duran will likely get another AB. So far, 4 PA 4 strikeouts.

Dalbec homers for the second game in a row. #5 in Pawtucket. I don’t see dalbec as a consistent year to year guy in the majors but there is no doubt he will have 1 monster year in the majors where he smashes 40-50 home runs Such a beast

It should be noted Dalbec hit that home run off stud pitcher Nate Pearson whom I believe is rated overall number 14 prospect by MLB

Yep, Pearson was a 2017 1st rounder. Making his second Triple-A start, he'd be tempting for a September callup on a contender.
Andrew Politi with the equivalent of a no-hitter, stretched over two starts: five no-hit innings today after throwing four no-hit innings in his last one. He'd been used mostly as a reliever this year but made four starts in the second half (two in July and his last two outings).

That homer by Dalbec was a bomb to left center

Dalbec homers for the second game in a row. #5 in Pawtucket. With just a 21% k rate. His walks are way down too (this looks a lot like his promotion to AA in that way, but in that case his k rate shot up). I wonder if he’s modifying his approach just a bit to be more aggressive and not whiff as much...selling out a little power for contact and generally swinging more/earlier. I thought his uber-FB-heavy approach was a little too TTO for my tastes...I’d like to see selective aggression and a focus on hard *contact*, as sort of a learning approach before MLB. If he can keep the whiffs under 25-27% in the majors, I think he stumbles into 25-30 HR (or more) and probably a 10-12% bb rate at least (could take a few years). He’s also *terrific* insurance for Devers at 3b, and great for spelling him on off days. If Dalbec can be the regular 1b by June next year, that’s a real nice bit of roster relief; no need for a CIF-type utility guy beyond the multipositional guys they have in Hernandez and Lin.

That homer by Dalbec was a bomb to left center I just love this guys power. It’s rare to have a guy like that. I’m thinking 70 grade at least

He’s got such ridiculous pop he doesn’t need to take massive hacks, it’s very encouraging to see his K rate drop as he moves up

That would be 58th out of 146 in the majors if it were at the majors. I'd pump the brakes a little. Yordan Alvarez had a .399 ISO in AAA this year before he was called up.

Dalbec has 70 raw, but in-game it's likely to play more as 55 or 60 depending on how much contact he makes. Of course, grading someone's in-game power is a relative thing at this point anyway. In 2014, when Kiley McDaniel wrote the scouting primer to which I often refer back ( blogs.fangraphs.com/scouting-explained-the-20-80-scouting-scale/ ), just 11 guys hit 30 home runs. Last year, 26 did, and this year there are already 22 of them, and 49 players have 25 HR or more with a month to play. So although 60 power translated to 23-27 HR in that primer, 60 power probably requires regular 30-35 HR output at this point.
