Playoff implications: -Doubleheader is huge for Scranton - they have a 1/2 game lead over Syracuse for the division, and the wild card is going to come from the Gwinnett-Charlotte race, so you're going to need the doubleheader to win. -Salem's lead over Potomac is 2 1/2, magic number is still at four after Salem lost and Potomac won yesterday -Lowell and Connecticut both have doubleheaders today. Magic number is two for Lowell to win the division outright. Kelly mentioned yesterday in the gameday thread that the Lowell press release had the magic number as one, which indicates that a) Lowell has clinched the tiebreaker or b) that Lowell's media team got the magic number wrong. Lowell's been off on a lot of that stuff this year (they tweeted a video yesterday about how it would possibly be the first time Lowell would clinch the division at home, which wasn't correct either). Either way, Lowell has a very good chance to clinch today. -Greenville has long since been eliminated (lot of dudes on that team looking a bit worn down in a rough second half, and Granberg and Cottam moved up to Salem), but they can play spoiler. Augusta is tied with Asheville for first place in the Southern Division.

As a reminder (as I am sure the main post was previously queued) the Pawtucket doubleheader starts at 4:35pm, and the Lowell DH at 6:00pm (and I will be out later than I'd like on a school night).

Hunter Haworth arbitrary endpoints extravaganza:
First 15 outings: 48 innings 56 H, 6.19 ERA, 1.729 WHIP, 6 HR, 27BB, 56 K, .296/.383/.450 Last 15 outings: 50 innings 31 H 2.88 ERA, 0.880 WHIP, 2 HR, 13 BB, 61K .173/.256/.251
He's cut his WHIP almost exactly in half.

Per the NYPL, these are the division title tiebreakers: Lowell has already secured the best head-to-head record; with three games remaining against CT they lead the season matchup 6-2.

Tate Matheny got promoted to AAA. Not a high ceiling but I really like his game.

Tate Matheny got promoted to AAA. Not a high ceiling but I really like his game. Lin on the DL, we won't see him called up SUN. Is it plausible that he's being bypassed by others and he'll end up on September waivers, instead of the Boston bench?

Tate Matheny ... I really like his game. What do you specifically like? He seems like the kind of guy you want in the organization. Smart ball player, good defensive outfielder, has a bit of speed, and can swing a little. I agree with the scouting report that he’s a 4th/5th outfielder maybe. He’s just a solid organizational guy who’s fun to root for.

Looks like Brock Bell and Matthew Lugo are both with Lowell, in addition to Jorge Rodriguez and Ceddanne Raefala.

Enmanuel De Jesus just went 6 innings on only 39 pitches (33 strikes). WHAT?! I’d assume it was a typo but MiLB and the Salem twitter account are saying it. There’s no way that can be true though.

Portland won the first game 4-0 behind Konner Wade's 7IP, 2H, 0BB 4K game. He's now lowered his season ERA to 2.74.

I’m going to go with not true. Beyond the fact that it’s just so improbable, they also have Schwaab going 1.1 innings with a strikeout on 6 pitches (all strikes). Similar story with the other pitchers. I think for some reason they just weren’t counting pitches correctly this game. That’s a shame though. Would have been a CRAZY pitching performance.
