They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Remember that time we won the World Series with Clay Buchholz throwing absolute cheese in the post-season but just gutting innings out? What a legend!

He threw a no-hitter as a rookie and helped win the World Series in a season in which he had a 1.74 ERA, and yet my enduring memory of him is throwing to first base. Do you know how many throws to first base it takes to be memorable than a no-hitter? I don't know the number, but it's however many Clay Buchholz threw.

It ends with a whimper, not a bang.
We don't need Owings & Gorkys anymore. Why not waive them and activate 2 non-roster players? Like Dalbec? Just a thought.

I remember one of those throws was a throwing error that led to his only loss that year in an amazing first half.

Shouldn't Benny at least benefits from the juiced ball? What a pedestrian year he is having.

I am present, but not really here. Mookie !! I like the aggressive approach. He isn't getting rung up often anymore.

What is the purpose of playing Owings?? I can think of ZERO good reason to play a has been.... that was never that good.... and doesnt fit in our long term plans. Why is he in there? Take a look at other players.... why Owings? Why is he on the roster?

Devers got the 3-0 green light and swung at a bad pitch for the groundout

Any chance of holding on to Holt or is he gone? I love him as a player and wish we could keep him but I am sure he will get a 3/21 or better and Marco is 95% of Holt at the MLB min. Sucks.

"These days" as in "during the period when he's transitioning back from the bullpen to the rotation?" He faced the most batters and threw the most pitches he has since April 17th.

"These days" as in "during the period when he's transitioning back from the bullpen to the rotation?" true, but how long is it supposed to take before he stops running out of gas early in games?

17-man bullpen and somehow Brasier still seems to get into every game.
