They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

the Benintendi conundrum ? is there a trade out there that is talent level neutral, addresses a team need and allows us to sign Mookie to a strong extension. he is arb eligible this year. likely could command 4-5 million. very valuable, but will get more expensive. Does another team value his skill set adequately at this point ?
i would llsten, that's for sure.

200 k's for Eduardo. BTW, where are all the members ? Ignoring that bases loaded walk, it’s been a heck of a season for ERod.

Got hosed by the ump in that Odor AB in my opinion. He was all over the inside edge of the plate.
That doesn’t however, warrant a hanging changeup down the middle to the next hitter.

Well, here may go the last real reason to pay attention to this season. Even if ERod can get out of this and the Sox reclaim the lead, he may not get to 5 IP.

i mean, it is the whole season (except the bullpen meltdown, which wasnt a huge problem) in one damn inning.
Nothing more to say. Our starters just let us down this year. No disrespect to Eduardo's season, just an observation.

Mookie needs one more for 30. I could be wrong but I think it Betts does hit 30 HRs that would make it the first time the Red Sox have had a quartet of 30 HR hitters as I don't think they accomplished that in 1950, 1977, or 2003. Of course this is the year the Twins have a quintet of 30 HR hitters and they and the Yankees are nearing 300 team HRs this season.

i finally realize it. it is a penance. We have to suffer for that great 2018 season. My penance will be watching a bit of every remaining game of the year and wait for our glorious 2020 season. Good night folks !!

Mookie needs one more for 30.[/quote/] Well, he won't get it tonight. Pulled from the game so the Sox can get more offense in what is obviously going to be a slugfest.

Benintendi is cheap, valuable, plays a position with scant organizational depth, and they'd be selling low on him. Why even contemplate that trade?
