See that's where we differ, I see a great bench piece as a guy who can start. See Smart, Kanter, guys like that. When we had Rozier and Morris. If you're not on that level, your just a bench piece. For me he needs to get quicker and more athletic to be that great bench piece. At his size he needs to become a much better dribbler because you can't use him in the post on offense. I love the guys effort, he's 110% everytime he plays, yet he's just so limited. Added to a guy who is under sized at his position. Now if he can pull a Hayward and move up a grade athletic wise that could change things. We've seen guys do that. The combo of undersized while being a horrible athlete in today's NBA isn't good. In the future I don’t see him much different than a Kanter as far as usability goes. Kanter, hasn’t touched the floor against Toronto. In most matchups around the league, if he develops that 3 point shot, I could see where a Williams, Williams, Tatum, Brown and a good PG let’s just say Kemba is still really good in 3 years is a great starting lineup. So when i say not a starter, I mean it in the same sense of a Kanter in that you don’t want them starting in an ideal world. You wouldn’t want to build your team with them starting. Kanter isn't playing based on match-up and frankly because Robert Williams is starting to get it. Yet if Theis goes down, we aren't dead in the water with Kanter. It will greatly change our team, yet he's a darn good player. We'll get less D, yet more offense. Just look at Kanter in last year's playoffs to see how far Grant has to go to reach his level. I can't every vision Grant being good enough the way he currently is to be starting at PF in this league. He'd get destroyed in the playoffs if teams actually game planned to attack him. He'd be like Kanter sitting on the bench. I think people are getting a little overboard with his D. Stevens uses him in limited minutes against certain matchups. Can he guard Siakam for short bursts? Sure, if he was starting and playing him 30 minutes it wouldn't be good for us. Nevermind everyone else in the NBA. You want him guarding Davis and Giannis? Even if he develops a 3 point shot, that stuff doesn't go away. I see a guy who can be a solid bench piece, unless he improves his athletic ability.

Want to thrown out love for Dort my binky from 2019 NBA draft. Goes undrafted to starting in the playoffs while dropping 30 points and playing good D against Harden. Still don't get how he went undrafted.

I am so pumped for Robert "Time Lord" Williams. Every dam time the Celtics have good wings but no size. Then he gets a fews minutes here and there and your like wow. Brad said they were in trouble in the first without him. He presents problems to teams.
I tell you what a weapon off the bench. Kanter grew on me he has specific skill sets. Look at Gasol on Toronto against Williams, he can eat that guy up. The NBA is so different now. I imagine why we dont miss Bynes.
I agree Williams is getting it because I watched that draft he fell to us, Do you guys remember we grabbed him and he was scheduled to meet the press and fly in but one problem he missed his flight. He had a little of that knucklehead in him. One good thing about age you hopefully start to mature. If he keeps this up unreal.

Milwaukee and Philly make me grateful that we have such good team management. I mean Hayward is probably the only player on the C's you could say has a bad contract right now, but he's not horribly overpaid and he's not preventing us from extending Tatum long term. We'll see how Kemba looks in year 3 & 4, but as it stands now, you'll have 2 young, long, athletic, all-star caliber wings locked in for 4+ years, an all-star PG, your 6th man in Smart, some upside rookie contracts in R Williams/Langford/whoever we get at 14 this year, and space to add another piece once Hayward leaves (or he stays for less money).
Meanwhile, Philly has makeup issues and they're paying 70+ million to Harris, Horford, and Richardson for at least the next 3 years while not ever getting past the second round of the playoffs. Then Milwaukee has been the 1 seed the last 2 years and probably won't get to the finals. Talent wins in the NBA, but making smart choices when you have talent is so important.

I’m amazed at what Tatum is doing right now. He should have 5 assists already

I love that Grant is getting real playoff minutes. That tells you a lot about his future impact.

Why does Stan hate the Celtics? Just like against the Sixers he clearly is rooting for the other team. It's just horrible the praise for one team that isn't even playing as well as the Celtics. Announcers shouldn't do that.

As soon as Kanter is in, he is attacked mercilessly. Why is he in?

There absolutely needs to be an overhaul of several rules in the offseason.
