Imagine if Graterol becomes a great pitcher now... Those will be fun conversations. Probably led by those who hated the trade for him.

Texted my yankee fan friend that I hope he’s ready to be terrorized by a Jeter for the next 20 years, it’s our turn!
Yeah Jeets Yeah, new #1 (as w Bruiser, this is debatable)

Really feel like we"d all understand if they just waited a week instead of providing this and then (I assume) changing it soon thereafter.

Also, Graterol checking in at #113, albeit with a 50 FV like Downs and Casas.

Yep: I still have this sinking feeling that in October of 2022 I'll be watching Graterol strike out the side in the 9th to win the world series and we'll be wondering if Chaim made the right call.

Might feel better about the deal when Downs slides over to SS after Bogaerts opts out 3 days after Graterol's save.

I know he hasn't pitched in the minors a ton, but if they go pure reliever with him, 2020 is a better prediction.

BA dropped their top 30's online today. I'll skip a number for Darwinzon to ease comparisons to other rankings. So Ward is actually #7 in their list.
SP ranks in (). Everyone on Speier's list is within 6 places of SP's ranking, except for 5 exceptions, and in the 4 of those that are huge, Speier is much higher than here. That's probably good. He's lower on Aldo Ramirez a bit lower on Flores (whom I bet is their #31 / sleeper) and maybe Catsellanos.
1. Casas (1)
2. Dalbec (6)
3. Downs (2)
4. Mata (3)
5. Duran (7)
[D. Hernandez] 6. Ward (11)
7. Groome (4)
8. Jiminez (5)
9. Song (9)
10. Houck (8)
11. Chatham (10)
12. Lugo (15)
13. Chris Murphy (16)
14. Connor Wong (12) [they have Connor Seabold from the Phillies' org listed!]
15. Bryan Bello (19)
16. Marucs Wilson (22)
17. Brainer Bonaci (42)
18. Ryan Zeferjahn (13)
19. Brandon Howlett (24)
20. Nick Decker (17)
21. Cameron Cannon (18)
22. Andrew / AJ Politi (52)
23. Ceddanne Rafaela (21)
24. Yoan Aybar (30)
25. Chi-Jung Liu (26)
26. Aldo Ramirez (14)
27. Tyler Esplin (61+)
28. Kyle Kart (46)
29. Chase Shugart (33)
missing:
Antoni Flores (20) Pedro Castellanos (23) Jorge Rodriguez (25) Jonathan Arauz (27) Durbin Feltman (28) Eduard Bazardo (29)

I posted the top 30 in the book back on 2/4. Flores (old 29) and Feltman (old 30) were the two pushed out by Downs and Wong.
Dalbec over Downs is wild.
As for the differences, the phenomenon we discuss on the podcast is that if you have a list of a certain length, sometimes you want to keep or get guys on there. So when we've been adding guys this offseason, for example, Chacon and Cruz have remained at 59 and 60. So the fact that most of the large differences are in the back end of the 30 make a lot of sense for that reason as well as the obvious one that, well, 20-60 or 70 ain't that much different in this system.

I guess Dalbec over Downs makes sense because they have Dalbec at 75 and Downs at 86 on their top 100 before the trade was even made.

This was my piece, it was a fun one to put together. I also am new here at SP as part of the social media team and I also write at Prospects1500. Do you like Downs over Casas? It’s a good debate since people seem right down the middle.

For me I like Downs over Casas but mainly because of the positional value, 1B vs. 2B. Remove that and I'd like Casas more. The only was I'd have Dalbec over either of them would be if I was heavily influenced by proximity. He was impressive in the Premier 12 games though so I wouldn't think it was outright crazy.

The brass here debated Casas vs Downs. It's a legit debate.
Understood about BA's top 100. I think they're way too high on Dalbec based on one staffer's look at him in practices for Premier12.

Any thought that Groome and Mata could shoot up national rankings or are they kind of an after thought?
