So the New York Times is biased and can't be trusted but that CNS is totally fair, reasonable and 100% trustworthy..... Let's just ignore the fact that it's chief Editor worked on Pat Buchanan's presidential campaign. Cool stuff. Enjoy sipping on your cool aide. Actually both sides news outlets in the USA have pretty much gone down the toilet. We've gone from having one of the best sources of information in the world to having one of the worst. There's mo reporting anymore, only "journalism". Media news viewership across the board is in severe decline, as it should be. One other thing Trump got right, the media is the enemy of the people. I follow news sources from several countries. In no other country is this virus thing an exercise in finger pointing. It's destructive in a time when Americans should be working together, they continue to drive a wedge. For me, I trust Dr. Fauci the most, by far and accusations that he's cow towing to Trump are typical ignorant statements. But you can't ignore the fact that he is employed by Trump. If he went all, "this is unreal how this is being handled. Every suggestion I make is being thrown out the window. I can't get cooperation from the guy". He'd be fired the next day and we'd have a new guy watching over the situation. This is a man who has "advised" governors of states to be appreciative of his help and to not critique him. Not that he was fired, but general Mattis resigned as secretary of defense after he told Trump, “You’re going to have to get the next secretary of defense to lose to ISIS. I’m not going to do it". Trump ignored his advisor and they resigned as a result. In a situation like this, Dr. Fauci (assuming he doesn't agree with Trump 100%, which is a BIG assumption) has to decide if he can be more helpful playing along and working on the crisis at hand as best as he can while lying through his teeth about the performance of the president or he can go off-script, get fired, and then replaced. Dr. Fauci has shown signs of contradicting the president's performance so it's not hard to fathom that as a possibility. I agree the journalism in this country is complete trash. It's entirely unbelievable, the outlet caters to your preferred political affiliation, it's full of half-truths and sometimes flat out lies and they sensationalize everything. There's a few quality outlets left, but even they've shown cracks like NPR. I don't think he was prepared at all for this. I've been following the news of Coronavirus since China first admitted to the problem. I knew through Googling how dangerous this had the potential to be. That someone can have it and show no signs for 5 or more days and still pass it along and the bodies that were piling up in China. There wasn't anyone in his cabinet that was aware of this problem? Why are we still lacking tests? Banning China travel is great and all, but we did so after the first case came to America and Americans were still coming back into the country from China without screening. No inbound flights into the country had screening. That's cool you banned China, but what about someone who stopped over in Japan and then came here? He banned Europe, but excluded UK and Ireland and had to later add them to the list after cases widened. Beaches remaining open long after the threat, states going off and doing their own things. He might not have the power to initiate a lockdown for every state (I think he does), but he can pressure all governors publicly. Instead, he has again and again lied and called it, "the flu", "a liberal hoax", "fear mongering". He has claimed "it's contained". He has promised it wouldn't spread. Now America has more cases than anyone in the entire world. Supposedly, we're going to open up by Easter because, "it's a beautiful timeline". There's no logic or reason for it, but he expects the churches to be packed though. A Louisiana pastor is defying law and claiming he just had 1,000 people at his ceremony in the state where this is fastest growing (at least from what I heard, but it's chaos in NYC) and to my knowledge nothing is being done about him. I say all this as someone who has voted for him and was planning on voting for him.

Obviously continuing it would be a waste of my time. Take it as a victory if you like. If you can't see how the question asked to Dr. Fauci in the link you shared was engineered by the person who asked it to elicit only one response (the one that was given) and if you agree that Journalists who dare ask questions of this administration or check statements for misinformation are the real enemies that this country faces then I am more than happy to converse about current events with my cat. I am sure that it will be much more enlightening.

Also, you know that you keep on reposting pro-china propaganda from a Rodrigo Duterte apologist? Or let me guess, you are a supporter of extrajudicial killings and therefore are a fan of Duterte and his pivot from the west to China?

No no no no no. Please God let's not go down that path again. Oh shit, I take it that this has already been litigated to everyone's frustration? I'm sorry if that is the case, but I am sure as hell tired of seeing such obvious propaganda posted here.

You have to admit that our coverage of issues is terrible within this country. mediabiasfactcheck.com/fox-news/mediabiasfactcheck.com/cnn/These are our two most popular "news" stations. The news clearly manipulates situations for sensationalism. It is, of course, better than government mandated "news" in China.

China arrested the doctor who discovered it along with 7 others who were then forced to sign documents saying they were lying. China has made people who were filming the hospitals and showing what was happening completely disappear. China didn't share knowledge until they realized they couldn't contain it. Unrelated, but I know of instances where a bookstore owner in Hong Kong had "illegal, anti-China" books and disappeared before surfacing to give a public apology. You are not allowed to critique China or the Chinese leadership. Hell, they banned South Park for making fun of their leader and their strict rules. Showing a protestor attacking officers makes China look better, so of course they'd show that. It makes China look better in that situation.

ADD: I don't think China is perfect but the Chinese-Filipinos I know seem to love their country. We as free people think that everyone wants a democratic system but in reality, that's not true. I was planning a vacation there so, I was watching the Hong Kong situation closely (and they have free press there and it was pretty much the daily top story throughout Asia) and there's no doubt that the protesters were the instigators of the violence. I watched nightly as they threw fire bombs at the police, did massive property damage and attacked tourists. Whether or not that violence is justified is another question but I thought China showed remarkable restraint in the whole situation.

According to news reportings from around the world. The people of Wuhan would post on social media and the government would remove them shortly after and then people go missing. Groups were taking screenshots so they could tell the story when this is over. Heck the people of Wuhan are on video when the President visited saying lies, lies, lies. China did nothing for months with the world's biggest population and some how they have crazy low numbers? It's litterally the reason they are offering so much aid, they made this ten times worse.

Pretty much whenever I see news agencies in foreign countries funded by the CIA through the National Endowment for Democracy, I become suspicious. NED is in Hong Kong. I'm not sure of the mechanics there but I saw it in the Philippines and the effect it can have. In the case of the Philippines, they are terminating the treaty between the USA and the Philippines effective June 1st. Our Senate declined to vote on the termination which effectively ended any hope of extending it. NED was also in Venezuela and the Ukraine prior to their unrest.
In the case of the Philippines, NED and billionaire Odymeyer (owner of EBay) funded a news agency called Rappler and put an American copy room clerk, Maria Ressa, who was born in the Philippines in charge. They generated fake news which was carried by the New York Times and Washington Post as "credible sources".

That's total BS. Very early on in the outbreak, China mobilized and built two, two story hospitals that were operational in 6 days. I knew about the virus a long time before I saw anything in the western news. They also built 16 temporary hospitals that were operational in two days. It was all over the Eastern news but no mention in the western news. China also has a large number offoreign journalists in their country. Only the American journalists were kicked out and only after America kicked out the Chinese journalists.

From Jan 31st: President Xi Jinping formally told WHO head Tedros Ghebreyesus, at their meeting in Beijing earlier this week, that the coronavirus epidemic “is a devil and we cannot allow the devil to hide.”
Ghebreyesus for his part could not but praise Beijing for its extremely swift, coordinated response strategy – which includes fast identification of the genome sequence. Chinese scientists have already handed over to Russian counterparts the virus genome, with snap tests able to identify it in a human body within two hours. A Russia-China vaccine is under development.thesaker.is/chinas-virus-response-has-been-breathtaking/. . . Mar 3 WHO’s assessment of the COVID-19 situation in Wuhan and around China, published on February 28, begins:
In the face of a previously unknown virus, China has rolled out perhaps the most ambitious, agile, and aggressive disease containment effort in history…
China’s bold approach to contain the rapid spread of this new respiratory pathogen has changed the course of a rapidly escalating and deadly epidemic.supchina.com/2020/03/03/chinas-covid-19-response-the-most-ambitious-agile-and-aggressive-disease-containment-effort-in-history/. . . How is their coverage of the oppression of the Uighurs? Tibet? Can you say Taiwan on their air? This is crazy. I am a far, far left guy, and hardly a super-patriot, but we have entered a Pynchonesque-level of paranoia and madness when we suddenly view the American press as the enemy of the people but Chinese state media as reliable. It reminds me of the people who flocked to that Russian-funded news site a few years back. I have a lot of complaints about the press, but the top media outlets, especially print, still do (actually more than ever in an environment of utter bulls... from the White House) a vital service to the country. Calling them in a sweeping fashion the enemy of the people goes hand in hand with a rejection of science and reality.

Calling them in a sweeping fashion the enemy of the people goes hand in hand with a rejection of science and reality. The general press is more interested in agenda than facts. They do far more harm than good. I honestly don't care what happens in China, it's their country not mine but their press is far more reliable than the American Press. I'm also a science fan, so there's no hand in hand there and reality and snowflakism aren't exactly hand and hand partners. Fortunately, the American news viewership is way down, both left and right. They just aren't believable anymore. Maybe a new press will emerge based on news not opinion. ADD: The New York Times is the worst garbage rag in the country world but it's more about what they chose not to mention than what they chose to mention.

Yes they are right biased bright guy but that doesn't change what they are reporting, nor does it change the Dr. Fauci video. Here's the original tweet which also has additional complementary comments. Here's the additional comment... Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus @drtedros · Mar 24 Replying to @drtedros I also expressed appreciation to @realdonaldtrump for Flag of United States's financial contribution and technical support to the global #COVID19 response, especially for vulnerable countries. He assured me of his continued support. ADD: And I don't post commentaries.

People just don't get it. Politics isn't the problem, this is the problem. Politics is taking away from solving the problem: Comparing the USA and the Philippines, the USA has about 26 times the per capita population with the virus than the Philippines. Yet, all of our bars, nightclubs, the vast majority of churches, group activity areas, theaters, buses, resorts, beaches, public meeting areas, malls, seaports and airports (partial) are shut down. We have a left leaning press but everyday, every news source is preaching stay home, stay home and praising our front liners and asking for donations. Our businesses have en masse gone into the manufacture of PPE. Only essential stores are open and only essential goods are being transported (lol, it's going to be a while before I get my cabinet hinges). Here is the oldest and most respected newspaper front page from today, see the difference ?: digitaledition.manilatimes.net/manila-times

Several things in China's past is the reason the line from my statement. "Whether or not that violence is justified is another question"
I was commenting on the situation, not the history since none of that applied to my taking a Disneyland vacation. As far as the path to solving the virus issue, the bottom line is that they solved it, no-one else has. There was obviously a point at which they knew they had a problem that needed to be dealt with. If Dr. Fauci is right, the people that survived are now very likely immune to it.
