I know it might be a bit early since only Blaze is official at this point, but any idea when the prospect rankings will be updated to include the recent signings?

maybe a question for your next pod (I can email it in) but would it be possible to give a guess as to where the players we were most frequently linked to but did not draft would have landed on our top 60? That may help us contextualize the perceived values of these prospects.

Red Sox announced the Juan Montero and Henry Nunez signings. Casey Cobb, a RHP from University of Alabama signed, as well.

So now JWY probably gets about 330k, Drohan about 600k.

Odd world. Yorke works 18 years, and in last two looks to outsiders like he'll be another 3rd maybe second round pick who will get $600,000 or go to college. Maybe he believes in himself and says he's worth $1.5 mil, even though most scouts say $600,000 to 800,000.
Here he is three months later with $2.7 in his pocket.

Maybe he believes in himself and says he's worth $1.5 mil, even though most scouts say $600,000 to 800,000. Here he is three months later with $2.7 in his pocket. I don't think it's correct to presume that he only might have thought he was worth $1.5M (mid-second round money, roughly). He said he had a number and the Red Sox met it, so he's likely been asking for about this the whole time because that's what it would take to buy him out of his commitment to Arizona. Yorke got slot for somewhere between the 25th and 26th pick, or put another way, about slot-plus-5% for the 27th pick. He probably said it will take first-round money to sign him, which is why some teams considered him unsignable for where they valued him - even if they valued him as a second-rounder (given that Bloom mentioned they didn't think he'd be there in the third, that's probable), that's too high potentially. It makes sense. Give me first-round money or I'm going to go to college and make myself a first-rounder. And on the club side, they still save about a million to give to the third-rounder.

Its probably incorrect to say he believed in himself only $1.5 mil. He probably did think he could get first round money. But realistically, that would have been a risk on his part.
I guess a more refined way for me to say it is it was a very shallow market. Of the 30 MLB teams, it sounds like only one was willing to pay X, while most thought he was worth significantly less than X.
It only takes one team to make the market. It's like having a house on the market, in most instances there is consensus value so the offers come in relatively close to conventional thinking. You can price it at your subjective belief, well over market, but a more realistic assessment is "you're not going to sell it for that."
Here, one buyer walked up and offered asking, which was $1.2 mil more than the redfin estimate.

Jim Callis@jimcallisMLB · 2m Austin Martin & Garrett Mitchell signed yesterday, meaning all 29 @mlbdraft 1st-rders are in the fold. The 29 averaged $4,080,307 in bonuses, breaking the record of $3,880,723 average in 2017. #WearAMask

14 picks remain unsigned. Marlins (5), Red Sox (3), and Yankees (2) are the only teams with multiple unsigned picks. A few of the draft analysts, including Jim Callis, have stated that they expect all draft picks to sign.
Blaze Jordan reportedly agreed to terms on an overslot deal, but no word since then. Jeremey Wu-Yelland looks like he added to his social media that he was part of the Red Sox org over the weekend. Haven't seen anything on Shane Drohan.

Had a feeling. Red Sox always waited until all the tests came back to announce guys, even when they were, say, in Lowell and watching from behind the plate.

ADD: So that's $1,197,600 saved between Yorke and JWY. If the Red Sox spend to their full cap + 5%, the Red Sox can offer Drohan a max of $736,395 (assuming Blaze signs for $1.75 mil). My guess is they go $700,000 for Drohan and call it a day.
