Paw Sox Twitter is streaming another simulated game from Pawtucket.
Jarren Duran just rocked Brian Johnson’s pitch into right center for a home run. I’d really like to see him get a shot this year if the situation arises.
Two guys homered of Leyer too. Dalbec hit one and then #67 hit another. Couldn’t see the name for who that was (Andreoli I think)
Balls are flying in Pawtucket. Connor Wong just took Johnson deep and Downs follows with a double high off the right field wall.

Chris Cotillo @chriscotillo · 2h Some Red Sox injury news: Darwinzon Hernandez is listed as an active participant at Pawtucket tomorrow.
6-1/2 simulated game scheduled at McCoy. Wonder if he's scheduled to pitch in it.

I have a dumb question: how many of the Sox prospects are currently in some kind of camp? I mean, just as an example, what is Jeter Downs doing? Are there guys losing a year of development?

The players in Pawtucket are listed under the depth chart above. I'm pretty most of the prospects are playing or at least working on their game, just not in organized ball. Downs is in Pawtucket pretty much scrimaging every day (he was at SS the two times I've seen).

The players in the Club Player Pool who aren't with the Major League team (save for Centeno, who has been in Boston as well for some reason, probably because he's going to be on the taxi squad and maybe b/c he's catching in the bullpen or something) are in Pawtucket working out. Like Ray said, you can see who that is on the Team Rosters page. Everyone else is on their own. the team is doing things by Zoom, etc., but there's no other camp or anything right now.

Pawtucket is streaming another simulated game and this time they actually have a broadcast crew.
Downs took Covey deep and Dalbec had one pulled back from over the wall too.

Chris Cotillo @chriscotillo · 14m Jett Bandy will join Red Sox in New York as non-roster player on taxi squad. Will have two additional players in Tampa/St. Pete.

OK, maybe a AAAA pitching staff.

He was free, he has options and team control. That works for me.

Jim Cain @_JimCain · 8h Notes from today’s Red Sox taxi squad simulated game at McCoy:
• Jarren Duran hit a 428-ft homer, one of three hits on the day, and had a terrific diving catch
• Darwinzon Hernandez threw to batters for the first time
• Marco Hernandez homered for a third straight day
. . . <---------Plus what Ian said..

It’s impossible to predict how things would have gone if we had a full minor league season going, but with the way that Duran has looked in Spring Training, Summer Camp, and at the Alternate Site, I think he would be getting a lot more attention on a wider scale. He would have easily jumped back in the top 100 on my lists in my opinion. He’s looked really good this year, at the plate and in the field.

Hopefully JBJ will continue to have a solid season making him a valuable asset at the TD. Then, perhaps, you’ll get your chance to see Duran at Fenway.

Mata on the bump for those who can hop on. K’d Andreoli and Pareda looking and got Hernandez to pop into CF. Looked really good.

Anyone know if Houck has been stretched out for a possible starter role or if he’s been pitching in relief?

Have we any idea what the plan is for Groome during the season?

Anyone know if Houck has been stretched out for a possible starter role or if he’s been pitching in relief? The only person who is currently stretched like that is Hart because he was in Summer Camp. Keep in mind that the guys they added late have only been playing for like a week and a half. Have we any idea what the plan is for Groome during the season? He will pitch in Pawtucket? Not quite sure what answer you're looking for on this one would be beyond that. I don't believe he's pitched in a sim game yet, although I could be wrong. Presumably he's working with Haviland and Abbott.

Lucroy cleared waivers and will be assigned to Pawtucket.

It will go a long way if at least 2 of these guys go on to be legitimate starters.
