They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Looking over the matchups, I hadn’t fully processed that Ryan Weber hasn’t struck out anyone in his two appearances. I’m not just bashing him. I feel bad for the guy that the team is putting him out there for a third time in a role he isn’t suited for.
Maybe he found something on the off days and he’s going to provide some decent innings tonight. One can hope. If I’m managing him tonight and he completes the fourth inning having given up 2 runs or less I’d probably pull him solely so he can go into the next start with a modicum of confidence. It’s not like the pen isn’t expecting to do a lot of work tonight anyway, especially after an off day.

Are the two starters on Sunday related? Similar names...

He fits right in with this rotation. At this point maybe bring up some of the guys from the minors such as Mata and Houck and see if one of them can be a future back end SP.

I like Remy saying this is not the start they were hoping for. Have, er, any of you SEEN Weber?

All things considered, that first inning could have been a total disaster. Weber giving up only one run seems like a victory.

Wow, that’s hard to watch, even for an opponent. He actually cannot throw a strike.
