Huge money ?, none of the above. I wouldn't for Trout either. I prefer a spreading the money approach.
We disagree but I'd prefer not to make every post be about that so I will leave it there. I'm not obsessed about it.

It is odd, in retrospect, that tomorrow was TBD when it was Eovaldi’s natural spot and he only threw 85 pitches on Tuesday. Seems obvious he’d go unless they are being especially careful with him.
Not a big thing except that if they were mulling pushing their #1 back, it is another indication that the strategy is at least a kind of soft tank.

Weber sent down. Wonder why they gave up on him so quick?

Benintendi cannot be in the line-up on Saturday night. We’ve seen enough. He's slumping bad. All players go through it. He's still a big piece of this teams future. Yeah I'm not sure benching him is the way to go, but he needs to not be leading off. I wouldn't mind dropping him to the back of the order and having him be the guy to sit for Pillar against LHP for a bit.

I thought Weber showed some progress last night. I’m sure we’ll see him again this season, perhaps not as a starter, though.

This isn’t directed at any specific poster and admittedly my thoughts are derived from something Hatfield said a week or so ago in another thread.
I get it that the pitching staff is awful and Ryan Weber has been particularly ineffective but when have we said that enough? I’m not trying to stifle anyone’s thoughts or comments. I mean, the Sox don’t have quality on the mound. Really, we get it. How many clever ways are there to say this? It’s like continuously saying water is wet.
Just my own opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Well... won’t have him to kick around anymore. I’ll say something positive: ‘pen looked pretty good last night.

Funny Verdugo rhymes with Yerbouti (sort of) and that leads to my Frank Zappa segway.

This team is in danger of becoming a .500 team rather than a truly awful team.

so painful watching benny continue to not square anything up and kill innings someone mentioned sending him down, it really may come to that. Could provide benefit, but will kill his value. I don't know what the answer is. You kill the guys already down confidence

I don't know what the answer is. You kill the guys already down confidence I don’t see much reason to shop Benny at this point. You’d be pretty much giving him away. I wonder if being hopeless hurts his confidence more than going somewhere to focus on getting his mojo back? He must be miserable right now.

I doubt folks would line up at this point. I think he needs to a visit from Jobu.

This team is in danger of becoming a .500 team rather than a truly awful team. I'm just as worried as you are. BTW, I believe that Devers has slimmed down since the season restarted. He is still trying to hit 500 footers tho. Next year, Raffy... next year.

That and constantly bringing up Betts is annoying. On the other hand, it seems acceptable to me in a game thread as long as people don't start taking things personal.

Pillar saving the game so far after the wake up call for Benny (pinch hit for in the 4th inning)
