They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Sweep !! I won't ever root for losses....never give up....never surrender !!! It's ok to root for them to suck. They are literally playing a game in Buffalo because that teams country won't let them play in their own stadium. This season has no meaning, or historical significance.

or historical significance. I'm not necessarily debating your general point by noting the following, but... isn't this potentially the most "historically significant" season of our lifetimes? Like I said, I get what you're saying, and I'm not trying to argue semantics (and perhaps failing), but literally nothing about this season is normal, which is part of why, to me, it's fascinating.

In the greatest sense of historical. Like if a dude hits .400 with the minimum amount of at bats, or if the Yankees win the world series, both would have 0 meaning to me.

Asterisks were made for seasons like this one.

In fairness, the Yankees winning the World Series, regardless of the year and circumstance has zero meaning to me ever. I have much more fond memories of any time they have lost when it was all but expected they would win. That option, when it happens, feeds my soul, like the first time your child says "I love you daddy."

Looking forward to watching the game tonight from Buffalo, and at the family friendly start time of 6:37 p.m.
The Red Sox really are in the minority with their 7:35 p.m. home start times, a decision that still puzzles me (and sure hope it doesn’t continue into next season).

Yay it's Kyle Hart day! At least the game will be decided early so I can get some sleep.

Say what you want about Kyle Hart, but the kid is a grinder. I feel bad for him because he’s definitely a better pitcher than he’s shown. He’s not a major league pitcher at this point, but he’s not this bad either. He’s shown flashes and I’m really rooting for him.

Moreland has to have a decent amount of trade value with the way he has been playing

Unless, of course, the Red Sox go on a tear and become good, in which case this is the most meaningful season ever. Right? Because it seems clear that that's influencing your reasoning pretty heavily.
