Double digit wins. Sometimes you just gotta take what you can get. Half way point and we have a .333 winning percentage. Optimist view: .667 the rest of the way gets you to .500. Pessimist view: Half way point and we have a .333 winning percentage.

It's ok to root for them to suck. They are literally playing a game in Buffalo because that teams country won't let them play in their own stadium. This season has no meaning, or historical significance. you do your thing....I will do mine. Won't ever root against the boys....as I said I guess you just can't see the bigger picture. Mediocrity equals a lost season.

I get the 7-inning double header thing, but if I were a team like the Mets, I’d be mildly irked (as just one example). Lose 4-0, 3-0, but also lose 4 innings against the Marlins who do not have a world-beating closer.
I guess in line with the discussion of starters, if you go to 7-inning double headers, teams with strong 7-inning starters must love it.

I get the draft thing, I am on board with that. Realistically though, it's the long view, it will be late 2024 before those players begin to arrive.

As far as I am concerned, this season was a lost season for MLB before the first pitch was thrown. Ten minutes after this season ends, there will be 28 asterisks placed behind whatever the results were, and everyone will forget about what happened. This setup is so far removed from the true major league baseball experience that it is no more than a placeholder to get to next year.

It's highly suspicious that Manfred has not released a plan for the draft. It's like he's holding off to see how best to screw the Red Sox. A plan with contingencies should have been put in place before the first game was played.

Great win.
They can still run the table and get into the playoffs.

I don’t think it revolves around the Sox per se, but it does make room for legitimate complaint if they make changes AFTER seeing what the theoretical order is. I mean, whatever team it might be, if you are the worst and then they say, no, we are making a change... you have a right to feel cheated. You have been cheated.

"You are wrong to root for the Red Sox" is a hell of a sentiment to express here on soxprospects dot com. You people realize that rooting for or against the team... doesn't actually affect the outcome of games, right? Their draft position isn't going to get worse if we take pleasure in the team doing well on the field.

I actually think rooting against them in this messed up lost season makes plenty of sense. More losses equals better prospects to talk about on soxprospects.com

OK, we really don't need to argue the merits about whether or not to root for the team like it's a correct or incorrect decision that has an impact on anything. Fine to discuss the merits of it but "patronizing" was probably a good description, and that's completely unnecessary.

Looking forward to watching the game tonight from Buffalo, and at the family friendly start time of 6:37 p.m. The Red Sox really are in the minority with their 7:35 p.m. home start times, a decision that still puzzles me (and sure hope it doesn’t continue into next season). Gotta make sure everyone is home, has had dinner, and did whatever else they needed to do. Gotta try to make sure as many people as possible turn on their tvs I don't think the headline here correctly characterizes Kennedy's actual quote, but he discussed the decision and how in hindsight, it was at least the wrong decision this year: boston.cbslocal.com/2020/08/13/red-sox-730-start-time-wasnt-right-decision-sam-kennedy-fenway-park-mlb/That said, he clearly doesn't get it if it's not seen as a mistake beyond "given the way the team has played, given maybe the nature of the pandemic with people being home more."

Given the way the Sox are playing generally, it would be OK if they started the games at 7:35 am.
