They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

not too many series when our starters have a lower ERA than the other teams, but here we are. Nats not going anywhere either, so it is important to sweep this series and stay behind them in the draft order, (kidding people. still I am rooting for our boys to win)

Gentleman, that was Martin Perez's trade value disappearing over the RF fence.

Law of averages. His ERA now about where one would expect.

John Henry getting under the luxury tax in 2020 so he can throw every dollar he has at Juan Soto in 2025.

He prances around like a pixie, for heaven’s sake. Record-breaking hot dog. 99th percentile hot dog.

Personality doesn’t bother me, but shimmying after every taken pitch is a BIT much. Verdugo has a big personality, too, but he hasn’t displayed Soto’s bush league glam jobs.

He just played his butt off.

If I had a nickel for every time I yelled 'just get in the fn box" at my TV, I could be retired and living on a tropical island.

My list of most hated players would be a Who's Who of MFYs*. At the top of the list from the 70s would be Nettles, Rivers, Munson, Dent, Piniella and Martin. In the '80s, none really. They sucked and were irrelevant.
In the '90s and early 2000s, O'Neill, J. Nelson, Pettitte, and Posada. After that, Ass-Rod, CC, Sanchez, Gardner, Gardner and Gardner.
The list of those through the years I didn't hate as much: Randolph, Winfield and Rivera (until his retirement days when he's earned an epic level of hate).
*Please note that the players listed here are just the MFYs I hated the most. I truly hate just about all 'em, except for Tiant, G. Scott, D. Lowe, Youks and a small number of others.
