Will need bleach to erase this season from history, or a gamma burst from the Sun.

I guess I don't understand. What's the big prize in not being the absolute worst team in the majors? I mean if they choice is between picking 1st or picking 2nd it's a no-brainer, isn't it? You pick first so you get whoever the hell you want. Why would winning one extra totally meaningless game be a bigger prize than picking 1st? I'd rather see the Red Sox get the player they absolutely want rather than settling - especially if they're going to suck THIS bad and be this unwatchable. It's probably all a moot point anyways. Even if the Sox did finish with the worst record, they probably won't get the first pick anyways. They'll combine 2019 somehow and they'll wind up picking 10th or whatever. It’s emmmmmbbbaaarrrassssing!! True but we can learn a lot for the future from guys like Chavis and Dalbec. There's also the utility role to thin out. Peraza, Munoz, Lin, Arroyo, Arauz. Who do we keep ?

Ian Browne @ianmbrowne · 11m Tomorrow night, the Red Sox will start a lefty in Mike Kickham who hasn't pitched a Major League game in six years.

I wouldn’t mind signing Ozuna for LF and see what type of pitching Benintendi could get. He had to settle for 1 at $18 I can’t see much more than 2-3 years at a similar AAV out there this offseason.

If the Red Sox got swept by the a nationals they'd be tied for last. Since they won 2 out of 3, they're tied with the Angels and have the same amount of wins as the Nationals with the tie breaker going to them.
Losing the games they should against the good teams. Just need to lose against the bad teams.

Chavis has only five strikeouts in his last four games which for him is a good thing. Now he just needs some hits. Exit velocity the last four games 87.4, 93.2, 94.5 and 91.6. His EV and hard hit % are actually up from last year. The guy just needs to make contact and the hits will come.

I really, really want to see him play daily, preferably at a consistent position.

I was personally hoping for Devern Hansack, but I guess they can't give us everything.

Pretty sure we've reached the part of the season where the Red Sox put made-up people on their roster and see if anyone notices.

Ahoy! I just noticed the new guys are in the rankings! I am psyched to see them bump up my Chatham-meter.
I am oddly pleased to see them between 10-15. It suggests that the top-10 is in better shape than it has been for a few years, because these guys aren’t bad — and if I’m not mistaken the Padres guys slot in only a bit higher for us than they did them, right? Nice.

Knowing we aren't going to see the Duran's of the world even sniff, Arauz and Dalbec are my next watches, and I'll root for JBJ, and so far Verdugo has been as advertised, obviously X and Devers are fun guys to watch too, but outside of that, it's a painful watch.
