Actually the 60's (1963 The Angels, My Boyfriend's Back) but since this year seems like 10 for many reasons you get a pass....1953 it is. I stand corrected. I should have looked it up first. I’d have bet it was like 1958 or something close to that. Well before my era, to be sure. I heard it on AM radio, WBZ to be exact. Great, great reference.
Has any rookie homered in 5 straight consecutive games before?

Gotta feel for JD Martinez right now. He doesn't belong on a MLB roster (yes, SSS, I get it) currently. Hope he is able to get his groove back before 2021. I like that guy.

Barnes has to be a non-tender/resign candidate, right? I can see no reason to pay 3.5 million in arbitration for that. Oh, and great/surprising win!

Barnes manages to make you feel dreadful even when he doesn't blow a save.

With the Angels and Royals winning, the Red Sox got a little help. The Rangers and Nationals lost, so that didn't help.

Imagine the season Raffy would be having if he hadnt been comatose the first 12 games? The best part is I still think he is getting by on natural ability alone. I dont think he completely figured out the nuances of hitting and when he does, sky is the limit.

I dont think he completely figured out the nuances of hitting and when he does, sky is the limit. I think I kind of get what you are trying to get to, but, is that more driven by the old stereotype of Dominican players? In a general baseball sense, it's almost like saying Nolan Ryan never figured out the nuances of pitching because his career BB/9 was 4.67. What Devers hasn't figured out is how to narrow his zone of aggression. His aggression and supreme confidence that he can hit every pitch is part of what makes him such a special talent. To use the analogy and extending it to another sport, some might say: Cristiano Ronaldo would make his team better if he didn't look for every opportunity to put the ball in the back of the net, regardless of how improbable some of his goal-taking chances appear to mere mortals. I'll take that aggression from Devers as long as he continues to have the production he had last year and his regression to the mean he is reaching this year. I thing that his typical season is more like 2019 than 2018, and that is pretty close to what he is capable of achieving for the next 6 - 7 years, at least.

He has one hell of a bat.

But really it took him more like 20 games to turn it on (a whole third of a season!!). Since 8/18 he's hit .346/.398/.704. Fairly decent.

Right now, the two future potential utility guys that I have the most hope for are both getting play time. Arroyo & Munoz. A shame in a way because I've always been partial to Lin but it seems like he needs constant playing time to stay sharp.

It would be nice to see Chatham get a look, too.

If Dalbec turns out to be real, and Casas keeps raking through next year, what is the plan? Do they move JDM? Wait out JDM’s contract? Sell high on Dalbec? Or... could Dalbec play outfield? He has a cannon.
