He'll be the perfect fit if they're not bringing Jackie back: GG defense in CF, right handed, good bat with excellent base running on a one year contract which allows the FO to see what they got in Duran with a full season of AAA at bats. What's the price to get him from the Marlins in your opinion? A package around Chavis?

What's the price to get him from the Marlins in your opinion? A package around Chavis? For all the reasons you've listed why Marte is a good player, why would the Marlins trade him? Chavis has no value, even with 4 years of club control. The Marlins could sign Marwin Gonzalez for league minimum and he would offer just as much strikeout and poor defensive versatility as Chavis. I'd imagine a deal would require someone in the Ward/Duran range. On another note I'd approach the the Marlins on Lewis Brinson. Hes arb eligible and with the Marlins surplus of OF minor leaguers coming very expendable. Hes certainly a flawed player but with his pull tendency maybe JD can teach him to hit one in the air on occasion. Plus Bloom seems like he enjoys collecting Top 100 prospects from 2017 who didn't work out (Arroyo and Gonsalves)

He's not GG in CF, he's actually not good. He was a GG LF age 26 and 27, going into age 32 season now.
The question is what is a bwar worth in this market? You'd project 2.5-3 bwar, something close to that. So normal market he has a good amount of value. This isn't a normal market though. If it's really bad 3-4 million per bwar he doesn't have much value at $12.5 million if any. Normal year you could have 10-15 teams interested in a 1 year 12.5 million contract. How many do you have next year? It's not crazy to think only a few teams would do that. So if I had to guess he doesn't cost much at all at $12.5 million. Not Ward/Duran type guys.
